WAYNE TAYLOR SEEKS VICTORY IN 12TH GLEN CONTINENTAL

WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. -- Wayne Taylor was a champion without a victory in the
IMSA World Sports Car series. Now, the driver of the Momo Ferrari 333SP is a
winner in search of a championship, and he will be looking towards a second
straight victory in the 12th annual running of the Glen Continental, part of
the June 23-25 NASCAR/IMSA weekend at Watkins Glen International.

Taylor drove to an impressive solo victory on Memorial Day at Lime Rock,
Conn., holding off charging James Weaver in Rob Dyson's Riley and Scott Mark
III, his first World Sports Car triumph. 

"Winning that race meant more to me that winning the championship," Taylor
admitted. "I knew there was no excuse for me not winning at Lime Rock. I'm not
taking anything away from Gianpiero (Moretti) -- he's a very good driver, an
underrated driver, but it's always nice to win on your own."

Moretti missed the Lime Rock race due to personal business in Italy, but he
phoned to offer his congratulations. 

"Now we will have to win a race together," an excited Moretti told his
teammate.

That could happen at Watkins Glen International, where Moretti teamed with
Eliseo Salazar to win last year's Glen Continental from the pole in the bright
red Momo Ferrari 333SP. Now a regular in the Indy Car series, Salazar finished
fourth in the recent Indianapolis 500.

"Watkins Glen has a lot of historic value, and it's really a good race to be
competitive and win," Taylor said. "I've never really had a good race there,
but with this team I'm sure we have the car and team to win again."

Taylor admitted the competition is going to be much tougher this year. Both
drivers for the rival Scandia Ferrari team, Fermin Velez and Mauro Baldi,
recently tested under the track record. In addition, Dyson's new Riley and
Scott Ford Mark III is getting better each time out, winning the race at Road
Atlanta and taking seconds at Halifax and Lime Rock.

"No question about it, the competition is much tougher this year," Taylor
said.  "If you look at the lap times from last year to this year, we've gone
faster at every single circuit, even though the Ferraris are restricted in
RPMs. And it's not by a few points, we're a full second, sometimes two seconds
a lap faster."

The Exxon World Sports Cars will be joined by the Exxon GTS-1 and GTS-2
classes in the Glen Continental, with drivers including Irv Hoerr, Hans Stuck,
John Paul Jr., Darin Brassfield and David Donohue. Saturday's racing opens with
the Ferrari Challenge at noon, followed at 2 p.m. by the three hour Glen
Continental. Sunday's schedule is highlighted by the NASCAR Busch Grand
National 200 at 1:30 p.m., preceded by the IMSA Street Stock Endurance
Championship, Barber Dodge Pro Series and U.S. Formula Ford 2000 National
