Bowe Adds Winton To His String
Tassie devil, John Bowe in his Shell FAI Falcon, completely obliterated the
opposition in an authorative display of driving at the rural Victorian circuit
of Winton.
Bowe won both heats from pole position despite heavy pressure from the fastest
Falcon of Glenn Seton in the first and Holden hero, Peter Brock in the second.
The dazzling performance of the Fords completely occupied the weekend, leaving
Holden runners shaking their heads. "I don't know what more we can do?"
lamented a frank Wayne Gardner after topping all the Holden teams in qualifying.
Young privateer, Paul Romano, in his first Touring Car season, recieved warm
congratulations from the seasoned campaigners after winning both heats of the
Privateers' Cup.
