RECORD PURSE FOR ADDITIONAL ATLANTIC RACE

HIGHLAND PARK, Ill. (May3, 1995)  The Player's Ltd./Toyota
Atlantic Championship has added a second race during the Grand
Prix Player's Ltee de Trois-Rivieres race weekend, bringing the
season total to 12 races.  The additional race will be held
Saturday, Aug. 5, in a double-race weekend with the previously
announced race on Sunday, Aug. 6.

Prize money for the weekend will be $170,000 US, with a $70,000
purse for Saturday's race and $100,000 for the Sunday race. 
First-place prize money will be $18,000 on Saturday and $26,000
Sunday.  The weekend total of $170,000, the Sunday purse of
$100,000 and first-place prize money of $26,000 for Sunday's race
are all record payouts for the series.

Full championship points will be awarded for each race.

especially because it's at the historic Grand Prix de Trois-
Rivieres," said Vicki O'Connor, organizer of the Player's
Ltd./Toyota Atlantic Championship.  "The record prize money,
together with Trois-Rivieres' rich racing history and the
incredible enthusiasm of the Quebec fans, will make an already
great race weekend even more exciting."

The Player's Ltd./Toyota Atlantic Championship is the longest-
running and richest open-wheel racing series in North America
outside the PPG Indy Car World Series.  Now in its 22nd year, the
Atlantic series offers total prize and bonus money of more than
$1.25 million.
