PHOENIX NEXT ON SCHEDULE:
The next event for the 1995 Player's Ltd./Toyota Atlantic Championship is
at Phoenix International Raceway, the first oval race on this year's
schedule.  This will be the series' fifth appearance on the one-mile
Phoenix oval and a new winner is guaranteed as none of the previous four
winners are expected to compete.  Qualifying for the 50-mile event will
begin at 5:35 p.m. on Friday, March 31 with the race scheduled for 11:30
a.m. on Saturday, April 1.

STRONG FIELD CONTINUES TO GROW:
The 1995 Player's Ltd./Toyota Atlantic field continues to grow after a
strong 23-car entry at the opener in Miami. More than 25 cars are
expected for the second event at Phoenix International Raceway with more
than 30 entries already received for race three at the Toyota Grand Prix
of Long Beach the following weekend.

FERSTL IMPROVING AT HOME:
Bob Ferstl, injured at Miami, was released from the hospital on Saturday,
March 18.  His family drove him back to Friendswood, Texas (near Houston)
in the family motorhome where he is recuperating at home.  Ferstl plans
to return to the series later this season.

AUBERLEN WINS AT SEBRING:
Player's Ltd./Toyota Atlantic Championship rookie Bill Auberlen is
definitely on a roll.  After surprising many people with an exceptionally
strong second-place run in the Dave White Motorsports Ralt RT-40 at the
Miami Grand Prix, Auberlen went on to win the GTS-2 class at the Sebring
12 Hours endurance classic.  Auberlen co-drove the Alex Job Racing
Porsche 911 with Joe Cogbill and IMSA owner Charles Slater.  The victory
came on the 10th anniversary of Auberlen's father's class victory in the
endurance classic, also driving a Porsche 911.

ROE TO RUN PHOENIX AND NAZARETH OVALS:
Billy Roe of Mesa, Arizona returns to the Player's Ltd./Toyota Atlantic
Championship this weekend at Phoenix International Raceway.  Roe crashed
his Swift DB-4 early in the race at Phoenix last year.  This year he
returns in a Ralt RT-40 prepared by Dave White Motorsports, the Atlantic
entrant of the year in 1994, with plans to run at Phoenix and Nazareth.
"If I can only afford two races, I'm going to pick the two where I can go
the fastest and straightest and not lift," said Roe.

NEW RECORD EXPECTED AT PHOENIX:
Expect at least one record to fall at Phoenix.  Joe Sposato will make his
1995 debut in his Sposato Motor Racing Swift DB-4.  Sposato breaks his
own record for most career Atlantic starts every time he takes a green
flag.  The Phoenix race will be Sposato's 91st career Atlantic start.

ATLANTIC GRADUATES CONTINUE TO IMPRESS:
Atlantic graduates dominated the IndyCar podium again in the second round
at Surfers Paradise in Australia.  For the second race in a row two of
the three drivers shared an Atlantic heritage   winner Paul Tracy and
third-place finisher Bobby Rahal.

Former Atlantic drivers won seven of the 16 IndyCar races last year.
Tracy's win in Australia coupled with Jacques Villeneuve's victory in the
Miami opener, extended the IndyCar winning streak for Atlantic graduates
to five.

Almost two-thirds of the IndyCar starting drivers in Miami and Surfers
Paradise have Atlantic credits on their racing resumes.

Meanwhile, halfway around the world, another Atlantic graduate was also
making an impressive debut at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.  Parker
Johnstone capped four days of testing with a four-lap simulated
qualifying run at an average speed of 230 miles per hour. Johnstone,
driving for his first time ever at Indianapolis, turned in the impressive
performance while shaking down Comptech Racing's new Reynard 95 chassis.
Unlike many test runs at Indy, Johnstone's car passed a complete USAC
tech inspection prior to attempting the "qualifying run."  Comptech
Racing hopes to secure enough sponsorship to run Johnstone in this year's
Indianapolis 500.
