F1: Nokia to sponsor Tyrrell in 1995

PR Agents to Nokia Tyrrell Yamaha. March 16th, 1995.
Nokia, one of the worlds leading telecommunications companies, has joined
Tyrrell Yamaha as the team's title sponsor - Nokia Tyrrell Yamaha - for
this year's FIA Formula One World Championship.
Announcing the agreement at Nokia's international headquarters in
Helsinki, Finland, Mr Seppo Harkonen, Vice President, Nokia Corporate
Communications said: "We are delighted to have concluded our agreement
with the team. The world Formula One Grand Prix series is a great
opportunity for Nokia to enhance the globalisation of our
Telecommunications business. Formula One has many advantages for us and
it is a year-long global sports activity performing in all our principal
market areas.
"Tyrrell is a team of credibility and with a great determination to
succeed We are excited to be partnering them and have great expectation
for the performance of the Nokia Tyrrell Yamaha team and our drivers,
Mika Salo and ukyo Katayama. We look forward with great enthusiasm and
determination for the season~"
Welcoming Nokia as title sponsor, the team's Chairman. Ken Tyrrell, said:
"The agreement with Nokia puts in place a most significant part of our
planned strategy to have Tyrrell a leading and successful World
Championship contender. Nokia's commitment to excellence and to be a
world leader is matched with our own determination for success in Formula
One,"
