Mercedes press release on F1:

Starting in 1995, McLaren International cars will be powered by a
new three litre V10 Mercedes engine developed by Mercedes/Ilmor. The
objective of McLaren and Mercedes-Benz is to finish the season among the
four top teams and thus prove their ability to win races.

Jurgen Hubbert, member of the board of Mercedes-Benz AG responsible
for the Passenger Car Division, comments on the possibility of further
technological cooperation with McLaren: 'The name Mercedes-Benz stands
for technological competence. From my point of view that does not mean
that there are no points of contact for joint projects with highly
specialised companies like the TAG McLaren Group. These, however, are
not part of the current agreement that exclusively relates to motor
sport activities.'

The cooperation with Sauber will be discontinued at the end of this
year. Mercedes-Benz had assumed a role which went beyond the original
agreement in that in 1993 and 1994, despite the shortage of sponsor
money, Sauber was supported by Mercedes-Benz to an extent that enabled
the team to compete in all races at a high technical level. This has
provided a sound basis for independent racing activities in 1995.
Mercedes-Benz expressed their gratitude to Peter Sauber and his team for
their constructive cooperation during the last six years; Sauber and
Mercedes-Benz won the Sports Car World Championship twice, in 1989 and
1990, as well as the 24 Hour race in Le Mans in 1989.
