This evening the Finnish tv sport programme "Urheiluruutu" reported that
Mika Salo, who is currently driving in the Japanese F3000 series, will
most likely to drive in F1 next season. His drive will be sponsored
by a American company, the name of which will not be announced until
everything is clear. Salo refused to tell the name of the team but he
added specifically that it will NOT be a low end team like Simtech or
Pacific. He also told that if some teams ask him to drive in Suzuka in
two weeks time he accepts the invitation but only if the ride is free.
Further, according to the Finnish ten o'clock sports news "Tulosruutu"
there are three mid-level teams that are negotiating with Salo for the
'95 ride in F1. He will be sponsored by American AND Japanese companies,
not only American ones as Urheiluruutu reported.
