   LAWRENCEBURG, IN - The master of the low groove, Kelly Kinser,
scored his  fourth series feature win Saturday night at Lawrenceburg
Speedway in the 50-lap  Hoosier Fall Classic, recording the biggest
payday of his career at $14,000 in the United Expresslines All Star
sprint feature.

   Kinser's win, aboard the Crone Lumber, JB's Salvage, Franklin Power
Products Sealth, came on McCreary tires with a Gaerte-Chevy under the
hood. He held off the challenges of Jeff Shepard and Frankie Kerr to
win in a race that saw five lead changes.

   "This track just fits my style," Kinser said. "(Jeff) Shepard was
really running good around the top, I thought he might keep his
momentum up, but we had a real good pull getting off the turns and
that's really what won it for us."
   Kerr started on the pole, led at several points in the race, and
finished second, a full straight behind the low groove master Kinser.
He was celebrating his 36th birthday, from the previous day, at the
track.

   "Me and Dale were racing pretty hard," Kevin Huntley said of his
third place finish after battling Dale Blaney for that spot. "We were
decent, we just weren't quite as good as these guys," he concluded of
his Warren Johnson United Expresslines Doemelt chassis.

   Jeff Shepard rode home fourth after leading several times while
battling side-by-side with Kinser. Blaney, a winner in Friday's
unsanctioned preliminary feature here, spun on the last turn, but
still finished fifth.

   Kerr led the first three laps before Mike Bowling spun for caution
number one. Shepard went high on the restart to get alongside Kerr,
taking the lead on lap six.  Shepard led three laps before he bobbled
on the cushion exiting turn four, allowing Kerr to take the lead
again. Meanwhile Kinser had worked up to third,
passed Shepard and began to challenge Kerr. In lapped traffic, Shepard
retook second, but by lap 13 Kinser passed Shepard again and moved
under Kerr with a low backstretch move to lead lap 14. Shepard then
passed Kerr to take second again, running the cushion while Kinser ran
the low groove.

   Craig Dollansky stopped on the track with loose seatbelts for a lap
17 caution, with the order now Shepard, who just nipped Kinser at the
start finish line on lap 16, Kinser, Kerr, Huntley and Blaney. Kinser
went low on the restart to take over the lead again, leading the rest
of the way to victory. Meanwhile, Shepard and Kerr were exchanging the
second spot almost every lap and Blaney began moving up.

   At lap 30, when Gary Wright slowed and could not make it off the
track, the order was Kinser, Shepard, Kerr, Huntley and Blaney. Blaney
moved past Huntley, but Huntley got him back 10 laps later. Lap 36 saw
Kerr move under Shepard for second and he began closing on Kinser in
traffic. Once clear of traffic, Kinser began stretching it out again.
Kerr maintained second, with Huntley ahead of Blaney for third.
Shepard regained fourth when Blaney spun on the last circuit.

   Todd Gracey in the Jim Walker Maxim started fourth and ran a steady
sixth, a lap down. Lee Dunn was next across, followed by 15th starter
Jim Nier, Van Gurley, Jr. and Danny Lasoski.

   Lasoski was the fast qualifier over the 47 car field and won the
Outerwears Pre-Filters B Main. The Southwest Expressline heat fell to
Pete Abel, the ButlerBuilt heat to Charlie Fisher and the other heats
went to Kevin Briscoe and Dollansky. Kinser won the Commercial Truck &
Trailer Dash . Troy Shields won the Action Sportswear Indy C Main.
    Ted Nobbe won the 20 lap modified feature.
