SCCA: Rod Mathis dead at Las Vegas

I'm sorry to have to report that Rod Mathis died last night of injuries
sustained in yesterday's Shelby Pro Series race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.  
It's sad to note that the very first race ever run at the new oval complex 
would also yield up the first fatality.  It's ironic that, in his Formula 
Ford days, Mathis called his team "Body Bag Racing."  His many friends 
in the Las Vegas Region SCCA will miss Rod.
