Friday's activities postponed
As a result of Hurricane Fran and its impact on this region, in
particular the demands placed on the state of Virginia, the public and
utilities services of Henrico County and the city of Richmond, NASCAR
and Richmond International Raceway have postponed all of
Friday's activities.
NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series
Skinner wins with help of rain
Mike Skinner got some help from Hurricane Fran in winning the Fas Mart
Shootout 200 over Ron Hornaday at Richmond International Raceway. Martin
was third, followed by Joe Ruttman and pole-sitter Kenny Irwin Jr.
NASCAR Busch Series Grand National Division
The NASCAR Busch Series Grand National Division AutoLite Platinum 250
was postponed until Sunday at 1 p.m. EDT, contingent on whether the
Winston Cup Miller 400 is run as scheduled on Saturday night. Second-
round qualifying was cancelled and the field set based on first-round
results.
