F1: McLaren to wear West livery in 1997 


McLaren has announced that they will be sponsored by Reemtsma, a German
tobacco company with annoual revenues in excess of US$5 billion, for the
next five Formula One seasons.  The cars will carry the colours of West,
Reemtsma's premier cigarette brand.


The sponsorship is worth some US$195 million over the five years, an
estimated increase of some 30 to 40 per cent from the Marlboro sponsorship
McLaren has carried from 1974 to this season.
