              Rain Alters Amoco Knoxville Nationals
    KNOXVILLE, IA (August 16) - Skoal Outlaw Series officials
were forced to change the schedule of the 36th Annual Amoco
Knoxville Nationals Friday when rain hit Knoxville Raceway.
    A steady mist fell throughout the afternoon and evening,
making the legendary half-mile oval unsafe for racing.
    As a result, the Non-Qualifier's Program was cancelled. Five
feature races will be run Saturday. Those races, to be
televised live on TNN:  The Nashville Network between 10 p.m. and
midnight (EDT), will be lined up by points scored in the
preliminary programs.
    Knoxville Raceway will host a $56,000 open event Sunday
evening. All sprint cars entered in the Nationals will be
eligible for that race except for the 24 racing in Saturday's
championship feature. WoO
