                  WILD WEEKEND ON TAP AT "The PAS"

FRIDAY, AUGUST 16: STOCKS, MODIFIEDS, DWARF CAR & WINGED MINI-SPRINTS

SATURDAY, AUGUST 17: 800-HORSEPOWER (35+ OF THEM) SPRINT CARS

PERRIS, Calif.-It's not for nothing that the nickname "The 4-Ring
Circus" has stuck with Perris Auto Speedway's regular card of Winged
Mini-Sprints, Stocks, Modifieds, and Dwarf Cars. Four classes of racing
cars, two race tracks (both the 1/2 and 1/4-Miles) and over 100 entries
(there were 106 at the last race on July 27) make for a "Barnum &
Bailey" atmosphere at "The PAS".     "It gets really festive when we
have all four classes racing on one night here at Perris, the crowd
seems to enjoy the variety and the racers enjoy putting on a show for
the fans," said track VP, Ken Kazarian. "Each type of vehicle has its
own unique way of putting in a fast lap."     The Mini-Sprints with
their tall "Outlaw"-like wings just run wide open all the way around the
track...it's a pure speed show. The I.M.C.A. Modifieds on the half mile
are just fast and very smooth," he went on, "and the Limited Street
Stocks are almost as fast but not quite as tidy, they tend to get a
little crossed-up (sideways) just about anywhere on the track."    
"And...the Dwarf Cars are as quick as they are cute. These cars are
almost overpowered for their light weight and short wheelbase length,
let's just mark down the Dwarf racers as real competitive."     All four
classes will be racing on one night (Friday, August 16) with spectator
gates opening up at 5:00 P.M., practice beginning at 5:30 P.M., and
racing getting under way at 7:00 P.M.

PERRIS, Calif.-About all it takes to get people all stirred up and
headed for Perris Auto Speedway on a saturday night are two words:
SPRINT CARS! And that's exactly what's happening on Saturday night next
at "The PAS". The mid-season battle has been well and truly joined with
racers fighting it out in every heat for every position as if they were
leading the last lap of the main event.
    "`Competitive' is not a strong enough word for what's happening
here at Perris when the S.C.R.A. Sprint Cars take to the track," says
Competition Director Bubby Jones, "It's outright war when these guys get
to racing. We're talking 800+ brutal horsepower, tires the width barrels
and single seater chassis that weigh less than 1500 pounds with driver
and all."     Combine that kind of awesome equiptment and
super-competitive spirits with a fast, tacky clay track and you are in
for a night of high speed drama on the 1/2 mile. And the 9000+
comfortable, close-in, seats at Perris Auto Speedway make watching at
"The PAS" a real pleasure.     Saturday night's Sprint Car Show will see
the spectator gates opening at 5:00 PM, practice and hot laps between
6:00 and 6:30 PM and the first heat race firing off at 7:30 PM. The
night's racing will be all in the record books by 10:30 when the
crossover gates to the infield pits will be opened up for fans to join
the racers and thier crews in the pit area for a post-race autograph and
photo session...everyone's invited!     Perris Auto Speedway is located
in the Lake Perris Fairgrounds, two miles East of Interstate Highway
215, just off the Ramona Expressway. Reserved seats, "Season Tickets",
and special discount group rate ticket packages are now available for
patrons of "The PAS", where there are always plenty of great seats for
