COOPER TAKES HOOSIER LOTTERY 100 LAP LM “ENDURO”

	ANDERSON, Ind. (July 27)  The Anderson Speedway was the site of the
second leg of the Hoosier Lottery Triple Crown series for Hoosier Park
Late Models, Saturday night.  Defending Hoosier Park Late Model points
champion Jim Cooper took  the 100 lap main.  Rainfall shortly after
the track opened, washed out Big Lots Figure-8 and street Stock time
trials.  Cooper, who smacked the wall tail first in hot laps, made
speedy repairs to set fast time.  He beat Bobby Fields by a few car
lengths.  Cooper and Fields were the only cars to complete all 100
laps.  William Mefford took third over Jerry Stires and Ron Dantzer.
Rick Fields and Ray Skillman were 6-7 after tangling late.  Perennial
favorite Vic Hellis, dropped out while running fifth.  Brian Rievley
moved to fifth before a flat ended his night.

	Rich Boyer took the lead of the 15 lap Big Lots Figure-8 main from the
get go and never looked back.  He took the win over  Herb Rose, Rod
Phipps, Joe Beaver and last week’s Nat’l Crown champ Tim Lemon.  Gene
Huston and Darwin Blankenship won heats.

	Street Stock rookie Mike Stewart scored his first ever feature win, by
capturing the 20 lap T&H Parts Houses Street Stock “A” feature.  He
held off Ronnie Rose, Larry Southerland, Wayne Young and Dennis
Wallen.  Last week’s “A” feature winner Bob Lemen got turned around
and defending points champ Chris Bair got put into the wall.  Jeff
Cravens was on the pole for the B-Main, but couldn’t hold off a hard
charging Danny Whitaker.  Cravens and Rob Harless were going hard for
second when both crashed.  Cravens night was over as his car failed on
the restart.  Whitaker took the win over Harless and Danny Vickery.
Southerland, Jim Jordan, Jr., Whitaker and open wheel  ace Jim Keeker
won heats.
