             Saturday Night Special! - S.C.R.A. Sprint Cars
                        At Perris Auto Speedway

    First of Four "Sprint Car Saturday Nights" at "The PAS"-August 3

PERRIS, CA--Saturday August 3rd will see the return of the wildly
popular
Championship Sprint Cars of the Sprint Car Racing Association to Perris
Auto Speedway for what will be the start of a month crammed with four
such S.C.R.A. races. "With 18 (out of 40) of our races here, we know
that we MUST do well at Perris in order to have a successful 1996
season," said top driver Rip Williams of Yorba Linda, winner of four
S.C.R.A. races so far this year (two of which were at Perris) who is
currently running fourth overall in season championship points. 
    "This is the home stretch for us, we've got 19 races left on the
season and ten of them are at 'The PAS'. It's 'get tough' time for us on
the Jory car."
    Rest assured that the "Ripper" will be getting tough(er), but also
be aware that thirty-five other teams are all figuring on adopting that
very same scheme of attack (as if they haven't been driving tough enough
before!).
    Sprint Car race action at Perris Auto Speedway is always a
brilliantly
competitive show; and this first of four Sprint car Saturday Nights at
"The PAS" will be part of a "Must See" August which will not only
feature the S.C.R.A. machines but I.M.C.A. Mods, Limited Street Stock
Cars, the Mighty Midgets of USAC, Dwarf Cars, Winged Mini-Sprints and
even Off-Road Races in the mix.
    On Saturday night the track's gates will open at 5:00 P.M. (PLEASE
NOTE NEW TIME) with hot laps at 6:00, and racing getting under way at
7:00. A special treat for the early-arriving fans, the very popular
"Meet the Racers" autograph session will take place on the front walkway
into the raceway between 5:00 and 5:30.
    Perris Auto Speedway is located in the Lake Perris Fairgrounds, two
miles East of Interstate Highway 215, just off the Ramona Expressway.
Reserved seats, "Season Tickets", and special discount group rate ticket
packages are now available for patrons of "The PAS", where there are
always plenty of great seats for EVERY event. (For group rates, give
