MISC: Lime Rock add Canadian championship events

The Lime Rock Park road-course in northwestern Connecticut
will add an international flavor  to the racing program
scheduled for Saturday July 20.

In addition to the Sports Car Club of America sanctioned
North Atlantic Road Racing Championship program, which
features 8 sprint races encompassing 30 different racing
classes from showroom stock sedans to winged single-seaters,
this Saturday Showdown will host two Canadian championship
events, the Dunlop/UniPneu Formula Ford 1600 series and
the Canadian EnduroSeries.

Canada has been fertile  ground for developing road-racing
talent on display in Indycars and Formula One, so here's
your chance to the stars of tommorrow like two-time winner
Jena-Francois Villeux, Dominic Scalzo, Didier Schraenen,
Walter Koller, and a field of over 20 ambitous Formula
Ford racers in their first test of the 1.53 mile roller-coaster
south of the border.

The EnduroSeries features showroom-stock style sports cars
and sedans in one-hour race which will include a mandatory
pit stop for a driver change. The field will inlcude Mazda
RX7s, Porsche 968, Pontiac Firbeird, VW Corrado, and Ford
Mustangs.

As another added bonus, Saturday is double-header day at
Lime Rock; while the big cars are running on the main circuit
the Lime Rock Karting Association will conduct a full day
racing program for the little cars on the Skip Barber
Driving School quarter-mile infield road course.

Admission for all of Saturday's activities is just $12,
and kids under 12 are admitted free. And admission
includes not only the infield and outfield spectator
hillsides  but also full access to the paddock for a
close-up look at the cars.

Saturday's activities begin with a brief practice
session at 9 a.m.
