Pit Notes for Sunday, June 30

BARBER DODGE PRO SERIES MID-RACE QUOTES

NOTE:  The Barber Dodge Pro Series Race was red flagged only twelve
minutes into the event due to heavy rain fall. With all cars being on
slick tires, several cars were involved in a first lap incident in turn
one.

ART COIA (#33 Union, Yes! Barber Dodge) -- Involved in a first lap
incident in the Barber Dodge race. -- Someone behind me just got a
little to excited. I was going into one on the first lap in some hit me
in the left rear tire and broke the upright. I1m down for the day as you
can see (pointing to the damage on the rear of his car).

FREDRIK LARSSON (#8 H-III/Synsam/Ray-Ban Barber Dodge) -- After spinning
off in turn on the first lap of the Barber Dodge Pro Series race. -- I
went into the turn too fast I think. It wasn1t raining before, but it
started on the first lap. The track was dry the lap before so I thought
I would have the grip needed. I nearly had it saved but then I spun
around and that was it. My exhaust (left exhaust pipe) got pinched. It
will cost me power unless it1s still wet when we go back out. Then it
shouldn1t have much of an effect.

CHRIS MENNINGA (#5 Menninga Electric Barber Dodge) -- He too was
involved in the first lap incident going into turn one. -- I1m not sure
what happened yet. It looks like I got hit in the left rear tail pipe. I
spun out but I don1t know exactly what happened yet. I wasn1t on the
power. I didn1t do anything o upset the balance of the car or anything.
I got hit by Seiji Ara (#19 ITASHO/Alter Inn Tailors/Sindell Law Barber
Dodge) and he had no place to go. I guess I won1t know exactly what
happened until I see the tape. I1ll know more when I get that tape but
I1m done running for the day. They can1t fix it.

ANDRES GOMEZ (# 15 Arrow Shirts/GOMEGA) -- Out of race after incident in
turn 1 with #23 Tim Moser -- I was trying to pass Tim and we just
touched. It damaged the front left of my car, but I'm okay.

TIM MOSER (#23 95 BDPS ROTY/WW Pants) --  I think I was in fourth place.
I'll go back out, but I won't come in to make repairs.  In a race this
short, you can't afford to come in. A pit stop can use up 30 seconds
that you can't make up on the track. My front wings are uneven, but
they're on okay. At least I'm still in the race.

PHILIPPE SIFFERT (#54 Le Marquand Watches/Geneva) -- Started 22nd and
running in tenth position at red flag when the red flag fell 12 minutes
into the event. --  I had a normal start, but it was very careful. I had
a good three laps, and am quite happy now. I knew there would be a
crash. You can be sure of it that everyone wants to be first into the
corner. This is my first race here, so I am quite happy. With the cars
being essentially equal, where does talent come into play on this track,
Where are you having the most success passing?  I like the quick
corners, but I had some trouble in the inner loop, but I like the rain.
