DYSON FILES TWO-CAR ENTRY
FOR WATKINS GLEN 'HOMECOMING'

 WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. -- This weekend's First Union Six Hours of the Glen
Presented by Acxiom will be a homecoming for Rob Dyson's Poughkeepsie-based
team. Dyson has entered a pair of Ford-powered Riley and Scott Mark III Exxon
World SportsCars, looking to both repeat last year's success at the Glen to
breaking through with his first victory of the season.
 James Weaver and Butch Leitzinger scored a seven-second victory over the
Ferrari of Fermin Velez and Mauro Baldi in the 1995 Glen event, which was three
hours in duration. Placing fifth was the second Dyson entry, driven by Dyson
himself and Andy Wallace. All four drivers will return for the Glen race,
joined by veteran John Paul Jr.
 "Watkins Glen is very much our home circuit for Dyson racing, and it's
absolutely one of my favorite circuits, so we'll be trying to win again," said
Weaver. "Physically, from a driver's point of view, the new Six Hour format is
obviously is a bit harder, but our cars (touch wood!) are very reliable now.
We'll probably run 200-300 revs less on the motor.  That's about it."
 "I think we're in fantastic shape for the Glen," echoed Leitzinger. "The whole
team knows the Glen very well. Our car's very well suited for the track. It
likes high speed turns a lot, and the Glen's got a ton of those."
 Dyson is just looking for a change in luck.
 "We have had the worst of luck of any racing series I've been in," admitted
Dyson. "At least it's a consolation to know we've always been there. 
 "At Road Atlanta we were second, and gaining on the lead Ferrari by a second a
lap, and we lost a valve. We'd had no engine failures at all, and then we had
three in one weekend! Then at Texas we had a substantial (two lap) lead, and
ran over a piece of debris.
 "We thought this year we would be in great shape," Dyson added. "We thought we
had a cars perfected. Then we had a couple component failures -- components we
never had break before."
 Dyson's cars placed second and third in the most recent Exxon World SportsCar
race, at Lime Rock, Conn., on Memorial Day. Max Papis, the sensational Italian
rookie, drove the Momo Ferrari 333SP to victory after executing a last-lap pass
of Weaver.
 Dyson's team competed in the former Camel GTP series from 1985-92, winning 12
races in a Porsche 962. The announcement of the Exxon World SportsCar concept
in late 1993 revived Dyson's interest. After a year attempting to compete with
a Ferrari-powered Spice chassis, Dyson contracted the well-known Riley & Scott
firm to design and build a World SportsCar. It took only three races for Weaver
to score a victory at Road Atlanta, and triumphs at Lime Rock, the Glen, Sears
Point, Mosport and New Orleans followed. 
 Now, Dyson is looking to get this season back on track, and he can think of no
better place to do it than the Glen.
 "We will attempt, yet again, to put on a good show for the Watkins Glen fans,"
Dyson said. "We'll get it gathered back up and hopefully, everything will hold
up."
 Weaver is in his 10th year driving for the Dyson team. The Englishman is
splitting time between the Exxon World SportsCar and driving a McLaren in the
European BPR series.
 Leitzinger is well known to Glen fans for his NASCAR stock car exploits. He
won the 1994 Busch North 125 in his NASCAR debut, and also won a pair of BGNN
races at Lime Rock in 1994 and 1995. Leitzinger also competed in Busch Grand
National and Winston Cup races, scoring a 12th in last year's Bud at the Glen
and a 16th in the Lysol 200.

ACXIOM NAMED PRESENTING SPONSOR
 OF FIRST UNION SIX HOURS
 
 WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. -- Watkins Glen International announced today that Acxiom
Corporation has been named Presenting Sponsor of the June 7-9 First Union Six
Hours of the Glen.
 "As Presenting Sponsor of the First Union Six Hours, Acxiom will have an
exciting and historic venue through which it can promote its sales and
marketing activities with customers and prospects," said Charles D. Morgan,
Acxiom's President and Chairman.
 Morgan will compete in the First Union Six Hours of the Glen Presented by
Acxiom, co-driving the Acxiom Oldsmobile with his son, Rob, in the Exxon GTS-1
class. Rob Morgan is the current points leader in the Exxon GTS-1 category,
scoring 106 counters to 101 for Irv Hoerr. Charles Morgan is third with 89
points.

PRIESTLEY JOINS BRADFORD FORD TEAM FOR ENDURANCE CHAMPIONSHIP
 Jason Priestley, star of Fox TV's "Beverly Hills 90210," will be part of the
Bradford, Pa.-based Two Friends Racing team in the three-hour IMSA Endurance
Championship race during the First Union Six Hours of the Glen Presented by
Acxiom weekend.
 Priestley will co-drive the Triple Caution Racing Ford Mustang Cobra R in the
event, which takes the green flag at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 8. Bradford
drivers John Kohler and Gary Smith will drive the other team car, the Zippo
Manufacturing Company Ford Mustang Cobra R.
 Priestley placed third in the 1995 SCCA Pro Rally Series. His best finish in
three races this season was a 16th in Grand Sports and 26th overall in April at
Road Atlanta.


BORIS SAID TO COMPETE IN FIRST UNION SIX HOURS
 Boris Said, one of racing's busiest drivers, will take on a new challenge in
the First Union Six Hours of the Glen Presented by Acxiom.
 Said will co-drive the #06 Valvoline/First Union BMW M3s with Javier Quiros as
part of Tom Milner's three-car entry in the Exxon GTS-2 category. Pete Halsmer
and Bill Auberlen will co-drive the #07 First Union/Valvoline BMW M3, while
Matthew Cohen and Bill Adams will pilot the #77 entry.
 Said's recent exploits include: scoring Ford Mustang's first victory in IMSA
Endurance Championship competition, at Texas; winning the Texas GTS-1 pole
position in a Ford Mustang; winning the SCCA World Challenge race at Lime Rock;
and setting fast qualifying time for the SCCA Trans-Am race at Lime Rock.
 

IRV HOERR SEEKS THIRD STRAIGHT GLEN VICTORY
 Irv Hoerr's NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series debut is on hold. Buoyed by his
strong showing at Lime Rock, the veteran Peoria, Ill., driver will return to
Watkins Glen International for the June 7-9 First Union Six Hours of the Glen,
Presented by Acxiom, and will seek his third straight Watkins Glen victory.
 The original plan for the Brix Racing Oldsmobile Aurora team was to field one
car for Darrin Brassfield and Brian Cunningham in the Exxon GTS-1 class at
Watkins Glen, with Hoerr competing in the NASCAR race at Topeka, Kansas. But
Hoerr went on and won both the pole and the race at Lime Rock (by seven laps!),
while Brassfield retired early with mechanical trouble.
 Hoerr's Lime Rock victory was his third in a row, and fourth of the season. He
now ranks second in the GTS-1 point standings, trailing leader Rob Morgan by
five points.
 A five-time IMSA champion, Hoerr has two straight Exxon GTS-1 victories at the
Glen, driving his Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme to a pair of solo triumphs under
the former three-hour format.
