NASCAR Winston Cup driver Bill Elliott has been transferred from Carraway 
Methodist Medical Center in Birmingham to HEALTHSOUTH Medical Center in 
Birmingham for surgery today on a fractured left femur. The 
orthopedic surgeon, Dr. James R. Andrew, has worked on athletes such as 
Bo Jackson and Emmitt Smith.

Danielle Humphrey, the public relations contact for the Elliott/Hardy -- 
McDonald' s Racing Team has been set  up with an office at the hospital and 
has a direct phone line. It is (205) 930-7820 Danielle will stay in Alabama through 
Bill's stay in the hospital and can be contacted at this number for 
updates.
