Skoal Outlaw Series Postpones West Plains Event
WEST PLAINS, MO (April 19) - Thunderstorms hit West Plains Motor
Speedway Friday, forcing the Skoal Outlaw Series to postpone its
inaugural event at the semi-banked, 3/8-mile oval.
The $34,485 event has been re-scheduled for Sunday evening at 6
p.m.
This marks the fifth straight weekend that Mother Nature has
hindered the World of Outlaws' nationwide sprint car racing series.
Gale-force winds forced series officials to postpone the Spring
Nationals at State Fair Speedway in Oklahoma City twice. Snow at
Eldora Speedway and rain at Memphis Motorsports Park caused double-
feature events to be cut in half the last two weekends.
Saturday's Skoal Outlaw Series event at Missouri International
Race Park in Benton, MO, will be run on schedule, weather permitting.

Skoal Outlaw Series Replaces Bridgeport With Grandview
BECHTELSVILLE, PA (April 19) - The Skoal Outlaw Series will race
at Grandview Speedway instead of Bridgeport Speedway on August 5th,
World of Outlaws President Ted Johnson announced Friday.
"The regulations the New Jersey Highway Patrol is trying to impose
on the World of Outlaws are different than what they're requiring for
other series," Johnson said. "New Jersey's rules are completely
different than those in any of the other 24 states we visit, and it
would take too much time and money for our teams to get their cars
ready for this one event.
"We have no problem with the facility or the promoter. It's
obvious to me the New Jersey Highway Patrol doesn't want us there."
So Grandview, which also hosts the World of Outlaws on May 28th,
gets another $34,485 event.
The Skoal Outlaw Series raced at Grandview six times between 1980
and 1995. Jac Haudenschild passed Mark Kinser for the lead during the
12th lap and held off one-lap record holder Steve Kinser to win the
most recent main event the World of Outlaws ran at Grandview, last May
30th. "The King of the Outlaws" is a two-time winner at Grandview. WoO
