Ayrton Senna began his Grand Prix career with the Toleman team in 1984. He managed to score 13 points in his first year.
1985 saw him move to Lotus where he secured his first win. Three seasons and six wins for Lotus saw Ayrton finish 4th twice and 3rd once in the drivers championship.
In 1988 he joined McLaren, a team he would win 35 races for and three World championships.
Ayrton was the master of qualifying and his record of 65 pole positions is very unlikely to be beaten, even Jim Clark and Alain Prost could only manage 33 and 32 respectively.
