Damon is the first of the so called 'second generation' drivers. His Formula 1 debut was in the 1992 British GP for the Brabham Judd team. He started with Brabham for the Monaco GP but failed to qualify until Britain. His first full year was in 1993 at Williams when his team mate was Alain Prost. Damon won three races in his first full year. In 1994 he came very close to winning the title, losing out to Schumacher by one point with that famous incident at Adelaide. In 1995 Hill again finished second.
