Intel Introduces New Platforms For Manageable, Scalable Servers

OEM Platforms Based on Pentium® Pro Processor Support Wide Range of Performance Needs, Include LANDesk® Management Software

NEW YORK, September 24, 1996 -- Intel Corporation today announced at its Wired for Management forum, the availability of a series of new OEM server platforms that meet a wide range of performance requirements and include LANDesk® management capabilities to ensure robust availability for mission-critical applications.

Based on the Pentium® Pro processor, these platforms will support uni-processing, dual-processing, and four-way multiprocessing environments, providing robust building blocks for system manufacturers to construct compelling next-generation server solutions. Large and small businesses will now have access to cost-effective servers offering new levels of performance, reliability, availability and serviceability.

With built-in management capabilities, LANDesk Server Monitor software and emergency management cards, help users of these platforms, guard against unscheduled downtime and are more cost-effective to operate.

All three OEM platforms may be configured for combinations of integrated SCSI, graphics, 100Mbit Ethernet, ECC memory, and hardware management, providing OEMs with a time-to-market advantage.
