MEDIA ALERT: Intel To Showcase Its Connected PC Vision At Interop+ InterOp DotCom

Network Products, Internet Multimedia Products And Technologies To Be Featured

Intel will be demonstrating products and technologies in support of its Connected PC vision at Interop+ InterOp DotCom. Intel will have a booth showcasing Network Products, Internet Multimedia Products and Industry Initiatives Technologies.

The focus theme of Intel Corporation’s booth at Interop+ InterOp DotCom is the Intel web site “www.intel.com.” Intel’s website has evolved into a virtual showcase for applications that demonstrate the compelling user experience made possible by the combination of Connected PC’s and the Internet. Intel will be using the website as a backdrop for its demonstrations of key products and technologies from Intel and industry initiaves such as making PCs connected to the Internet easier to use and demonstrating new multimedia capabilities. Intel is working with the industry to deliver on this opportunity by supporting standards bodies that drive interoperability and richness, providing media application building blocks to ISV's so that they can build great connected applications and creating a new and exciting look for the Intel corporate sight to showcase applications, news and content that catalyze industry opportunities.

PC-RSVP

Intel is leading has lead an industry wide effort to promote increased bandwidth on demand. The goal in creating this new Internet standard, called RSVP (for ReSerVation Protocol), is to provide a higher level of quality for all multimedia applications, as traffic on the Internet increases. This demo illustrates how PC-RSVP enables content rich applications on today’s limited bandwidth networks. In addition to the Intel booth, industry support for and demonstrations of RSVP will evident at the booths of some of the other industry participants in this effort including Microsoft and MCI.

Intel Streaming Media Viewer

The Intel Streaming Media Viewer allows end-users to access audio/video content (such as music videos from Sony Music's Columbia, Epic and Work record labels) over the Internet without having to endure long download delays. This demo shows the Intel Streaming Media Viewer being used to watch Sony's music videos.
