Many different types of jobs are offered at Intel. Following are general descriptions of major job categories, however we also encourage you to review specific positions available on our Hot Jobs page.
IC engineering at Intel encompasses specification, design, testing, and yield improvements of VLSI microprocessors, microprocessor chip-set peripherals, memory components, and microcontrollers. You should know microcomputer architecture, behavioral modeling and logic synthesis, logic design and simulation, design of testability, VLSI circuit design, CAD and design automation technique, IC manufacturing, reliability, failure analysis, or fault grading.
IC manufacturing opportunities include semiconductor process, yield, product, equipment, manufacturing/industrial, assembly/test engineers and production supervisors. Technician opportunities exist for manufacturing, process, equipment, training, and facilities technicians. IC manufacturing requires the combination of wide range of technical and manufacturing management skills.
Hardware Systems engineering includes systems design, analysis, validation,and sustaining of PC boards, chassis and systems, network products and storage systems. Areas of specialization include circuit design, systems integration, firmware development, and peripheral design and evaluation.
Manufacturing operations combine engineering and business management skills with leading-edge system production tools, processes and facilities. Opportunities include both engineering and technician positions.
Software engineering ranges from advancing the system-level software for each processor generation, to advanced desktop videoconferencing systems. Software engineering teams support a variety of business and functional groups in the development of internal applications, as well as Intel products. Software engineering requires experience in object-oriented programming, C++, multimedia software development, or knowledge of Windows* environments.
Marketing and sales ranges from corporate efforts like the Intel Inside® campaign to product specific programs. Positions include product marketing, marketing communications, technical marketing, sales development and field sales. A technical background is preferred.
Materials opportunities involve forecasting, purchasing, scheduling and analyzing material and product requirements, as well as support of site operations. Planning and Logistics areas of contributions include factory loading, forecasting, customer order fulfillment, product delivery and logistics systems. The goal of each group is to ensure world-class manufacturing and customer service.
Information Technology (IT) includes designing, operating and supporting the internal IT architecture and applications. Opportunities include supporting/maintaining the hardware and software used by Intel employees, analyzing/designing business systems and evaluating/designing the technology direction/products. Specialized skill areas include: client/server and distributed computing, telecommunications protocols and technology, and database design/management.
Finance and accounting assignments include managing Intel's assets, improving processes, forecasting, reporting and analyzing financial and operational results. Additional administrative openings exist in Human Resources and Legal organizations.
