Breaking the Bandwidth BarrierToday's computer users are demanding ever-richer quality and content from their PC. The most compelling applications today deliver rich content in a connected PC world.User demand for real-time content has outstripped the delivery capacity of the telecommunications infrastructure creating a bandwith barrier. New "hybrid" approaches to application design which cleverly provide efficient bulk delivery of rich content via CD/DVD, time shifted delivery via the telecommunications network, or via TV broadcast (including satellite) in conjunction with the Internet updates represent a new paradigm for content design and delivery. The Intel Internet Media Symposium focused on this new content strategy. Intel, along with a host of industry experts representing leading edge PC communications companies and tool/technology providers, will show and outline how hybrid, connected PC applications can "break the bandwidth barrier." |
