6/25/96 - Today the Dow Jones reported that VIScorp has finalized an agreement to buy Amiga Technologies from ESCOM AG for $40 million in cash and stock. The purchase includes the entire staff and property of Amiga Technologies GmbH, including all existing computers that have been manufactured, and all production parts. All property of Commodore Int also appears to be involved in the sale, with the exception of the Commodore trademarks.Amiga Technologies will continue to distribute and coordinate the Amiga's future from the Bensheim, Germany headquarters. The deal is expected to be closed in July. |
