oversampling

The technique by which data is read multiple times, in order to use the average of the data or that which appears more often. Repetitive oversampling leads to more reliable results.

The area surrounding the visible screen that is unused or available using the Overscan preference program.

overwrite

The process of destroying an old file by saving a new file on top of the old file, of the same name.
