Firstly, some news in Newtype #1:
Clamp/Ookawa Nanase said manga "X" will return to Asuka. I have checked
contents on this month's issue, and it is not there. So hopefully it will
return to next issue (Jan 24). Also, when talking about their recent work,
"Miyuki in wonderland" OAV is close to finish, but "X" anime is still in
the planning stage. So it looks like it will be delayed a bit. "RG Veda"
manga is reaching its climax (finale) as well.
Bits and pieces in Puff #1, 1995:
1. Reports on OAVs include: "Papuwa-kun", a X'mas special which comes with
7 freebies such as X'mas card, New Year card, Birthday card, etc; and "Boku
no sexual harassment", original manga by Momo Sakura, story about boys' love.
2. An interview with Okazaki Takeshi, author of "Elementors" (Seireitsukai).
He has announced in Newtype last month that he will retire after finishing
the "Elementors" manga, which is scheduled early 1995. The main reason for
his retirement is that he has been suffering from a lung illness (a hole
in his lung) and had been admitted to the hospital twice, and he feels very
sorry and guilty of delaying his work and causing troubles for others. Also,
because of this illness he cannot stay through the night, which is an
essential part of a manga-ka's life. ^_^; So he has decided to pursue other
job of his other interests.
3. This month's big special is about the finished shoujo manga during 1994,
which include:

Quite a few were long running manga. Puff did a little report on the first
8 manga of this list, which include publishing the very first page of the
manga when it started.
4. When many people focus on Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt's latest movie
"Interview of the Vampire", Shinohara Udou's manga, "Yoake no Vampire"
which is based on Anne Rice's novel, will be finished in magazine Chara
Vol.2. Shinohara's vampires are bishounen, by the way. ^_^
5. Kouga Yun's new manga "Carol-K" in Kimi to Boku apparently is a yomikiri,
that is, a one-off story. But it might turn into a series later though.
6. A big section on Toumiya Senko and her "Kichioji Club" doujinshi.
7. Kawahara Yumiko has a new manga in magazine Aria called "Park".

10. "Kiseijuu" will finish in this month's Afternoon. "Bronze" has already
started again in Margaret, after the extra chapter about Hirose. Urasawa
Naoki (Yawara!) has a new manga in Big Comic Original called "Monster", a
psycho suspense story about a surgeon and the monster he creates.
11. Shounen Ace will have a price reduction from #2, from 390 yen to 300 yen.
Morning #5 on Jan 5th will have another "GON" manga. Wings #2 (Dec 27) will
not have Clamp's "RG Veda". But Clamp returned to Young Rose #1, Dec 16.
Clamp also has an extra story of Magic Knight Rayearth in Run Run #1 (Dec 17).
12. The release of the first issue of Comic Newtype will be delayed to mid-Jan.
13. Nekobe Neko (Kingyo Chuuihou)'s "Kirara Note", running in Nakayoshi, will
finish in the next issue, #2 on Dec 29.
14. TV anime of "Chibimarukochan" will return! It will be a new production
series, with the same cast and staffs, starting in January. Chibimarukochan
was the only TV anime with high enough ratings to compete with Sazaesan in
recent years. Chibimarukochan has also held a record of rating of 39.9%.
