His research was in number theory, algebraic geometry and group theory. Together with Dieudonné and others, he wrote under the name Boubaki, a project which attempted to give a unified description of mathematics.
Weil's most famous books include Foundations of Algebraic Geometry (1946) and Elliptic Functions According to Eisenstein and Kronecker (1976).
