Qadi Zada was professor of mathematics at Samarkand where Ulugh Beg was a student an his classes. After the death of al'Kashi, Qadi Zada became director of the Samarkand Observatory.

He determined the value of the sine of an angle, computing sin 1degrees to an accuracy of 10^-^1^2 (if expressed in decimals). He worked most of his life computing tables.
