Died: 11 Aug 1587 in Coimbra, Portugal

Pedro Nunez studied at Lisbon and moved to Coimbra to the chair of mathematics in 1537, where he remained for the rest of his life.

He worked in geometry, spherical trigonometry and algebra. Outside mathematics he worked in geography, physics, cosmology and he wrote poetry. While at Coimbra he taught Clavius.
