Neugebauer made important contributions to the history of mathematics. His main contribution to mathematics, however, was in establishing the two main abstracting mathematics journals in the World. In 1931 be founded Zentralblatt für Matematik and, after he emigrated to the USA in 1940, he founded Mathematical Reviews. One or both of these is taken by university mathematics departments world-wide.
