Abu Nasr Mansur ibn Ali ibn Iraq

Born: 970 in (possibly) Khwarazm (now Kara-Kalpakskaya, Uzbekistan)
Died: 1036 in (probably) Ghazna (now Ghazni, Afganistan)

Abu Nasr Mansur was a disciple of Abu'l Wafa and worked on trigonometry and discovered the sine law

a/sin A = b/sin B = c/sin C.

Abu'l-Wafa may have discovered it first and certainly Ptolemy knew it long before. Priority is hard to determine in such cases.

Mansur wrote several short books on specific problems in geometry and astronomy. He taught al'Biruni.
