Guido Fubini was taught by Dini and Bianchi. Fubini's interests were exceptionally wide. His thesis was on differential geometry but he later turned to analysis. In this area he worked on differential equations, analytic functions and functions of several complex variables. He also studied the calculus of variations, non-linear integral equations, linear groups and non-euclidean spaces.

His most important work was on differential projective geometry. In 1938 Fubini was forced to leave his post by the racial laws of the Fascist government. He emigrated to the USA out of concern for the future of his two sons.
