   0 Preface

   uuacct is a tool to produce an overview out of the `xferstat' file
   created by uucico 1.13n, 1.15c or 1.16a (i. e. the uucicos enhanced by
   the Software Brewery). Sample output follows:

                             straylight.hactar.Sub.ORG
                              UUCP GENERAL ACCOUNTING

   ==============================================================================

        Most of the values should be self-explanatory ... The `Err' figure
   under `Calls' shows how may of the `Tot[al]' entries for the host in
   question have a line starting with `#' (which indicates an abnormal
   termination); the higher this figure, the lower is the reliability of
   that connection.

        `Last' shows you when the last connection to the particular host
   has been started; in the `.totals.' line, it's meaning is `first
   registered connection' (useful in conjunction with `-H').

        `.failed.' summarizes all `connections' which have terminated for
   any reason before the two uucicos negotiated. (This usually means that
   you dialed something (got a `CONNECT') but the login procedure failed
   ...) The values of `.failed.' are completely ignored, that's why you see
   131 total calls instead of 131 + 165 = 196 in the sample above ...

   1 Software Requirements

   You need a program that stores per-connection data in `xferstat' format
   (usually an uucico from the `Software Brewery' for AmigaUUCP):

   /*
    * Format einer STATFILE-Zeile (uucico113n):

   1.1 Configuration

   Just install uuacct where you want to have it, e. g. `uucp:c/'. If that
   place's not in your AmigaDOS search path, you better not forget where
   you've put it =:->

   2 Usage

   Usage: uuacct [-H<host>] [-f<dd-mm-yy>] [-t<dd-mm-yy>] [-d<days>]
                 [-h<hours>] [xferstat-file]

    o `-H<host>' directs uuacct to look only at entries for host. As of
      this writing, you may specify multiple `-H' options but only the last
      is really used ...

    o With `-f<dd-mm-yy>' you can specify from which date uuacct should
      start  summarizing the xferstat-entries (e. g. `-t17-04-92' means `all
      entries since Apr 17 00:00:00 1992').

    o `-t<dd-mm-yy>' sets the upper boundary (cmp. `-f').

    o `-d<days>' specifies from how many days in the past the accounting
      should be computed; e. g. `-d7' produces an overview of the last 7
      days.

    o `-h<hours>' is like `-d' but measured in hours: `-h24' gives you an
      survey over the last 24 hours.

    o With `xferstat-file' you may specify an alternative datafile (still
      in xferstat format as described above), the default is
      `uuspool:xferstat'.

   3 Problems * Suggestions * Donations

   In case of problems or if you find a bug, feel free to write to
   <sendmail@hactar.hanse.de>. Same address applies for suggestions for
   future releases.

        Have fun! If you like this program, it would be nice if you'd send
   me something (like money, postcards, harddisks, email, etc.) for having
   written it; I assume this is what is known as `giftware' =:->
