Emulators for: PCs

The PC has the greatest number of emulators. There are emulators for the C64, Spectrum, Videogames and some exotic computers. This list maybe be out of date within some days but which list is really up-to-date (ok, except the excellent emulator-faq...)?

Acorn BBC
- BBC
  You will need ROM-Images of the BBC's Basic and OS.
- BBC386 (in development)

- BeebEm
  Like BBC: Basic and OS are required. Runs under Win3.1 and WinNT.
Atari ST
- Gemulator 95 (Win95; Win3.11+Win32s with losses)
  Only supports graphic modes up to 16 colours and needs a card with the TOS-Roms.
- Janus
  Hardware-emulator. There are versions with 68000, 68020 or 68030. Runs under DOS, Win and OS/2.
- MagicPC (Win95)
  A portation of MagiC to Windows95. All ST-programs that run on MagiC have no problems with MagicPC. You can also use a ROM-image of TOS1.04-2.06 with MagicPC.
- TOS2Win (Win95)
  Software-emulation; does not require a ROM-image!
- STizer
  Same as Janus, but with a ROM- and Midi-port.
- STiMuL
- STonX
  A Windows/Dos-version of the Unix-AtariST-emulator is in development.

- C64 Alive (Download!)
  Not as good as the following two emulators.
- C64S v1.1b (Download!)
  Good emulation. Runs many games. It comes as crippleware: The demo-version only runs 10 minutes.
- PC64 (Download!)
  It runs as much as the C64s which means that it emulates all documented and some of the undocumented features of the C64. The decision between C64s & PC64 is difficult you should try them both. There is also a (slow) Win32s/Win95-version.
- Win 64 Beta .02 (Download!)
  A C64-emulator in development for Win95 and WinNT.
Dragon/CoCo
- PC-Dragon II
- T3 (Download!)
  Fast Dragon- and CoCo-emulator. Requires a 386er-PC or better. The program is in development, some operations of the real Dragon aren't released yet. You will need a ROM-image (you can get it at Paul Burgin's homepage, just click on PC-Dragon II).

  Faster and smaller than Z88dream; also for Windows.
- Z88dream (Download!)
  Z88-emulation for Windows. It emulates also the 128KByte expanded memory.
- Z88EM (Download!)
  Slow and without documentation.
Others
- UAE 0.53b (Amiga-Emulator; Download!)
  Beta-testversion. It's slow and doesn't support sound. UAE needs Kickstart-ROMS as a file.
- Executor (MAC-Emulator)
  Emulation of an old Mac, without QuickDraw or QuickTime.
- QXL
  Hardware-emulation of a Sinclair QL. Manufactured by Miracle Designs.
- Chip8 (Download!)
  Chip8 is something like an ancient Java. There are many portation for a wide range of computers. Chip8 has been used mainly on simple 1KB-computers, so Chip8-games are very tiny (usually smaller than 255 bytes)
- DOS Chip8 & VChip8
  Another Chip8-emulator.

  An emulation of a popular homecomputer from Sweden.
