Religion and the Panic Society Religion has been around ever since the human race was formed. All such civilizations recognised and worship some sort of a God or supreme being. Be it Budda, Allah, God, The Great White Spirit, or many others symbols, Religion in some form could be found anywhere that the human race was found. Even Voodoo worship, Witch Doctors and Medicine Men are also forms of religions. In Europe, it was Christianity. This developed as a result of the birth of Christianity along the eastern Mediterranean countries. It is probably most well known due to its spread and acceptance among the Western World. There were however many problems with Christianity. The Catholic Church became the biggest problem. Everywhere that the European explorers went, the Catholic Missionaries went. They proceeded to force the Catholic Religion down the throats of the people who's land was taken away from them by the invading Europeans. As a result, The evil United States was formed on the basis of "Freedom of Religion". It was because of State supported religion, the dictatorship of the Pope, The Church of England's effort to force its brand of religion on all cultures of the world, and the attacks on people that attempted to organize churches that were independent of the laws of England or the Pope, that people fled and moved into the colonies that soon became the United States of America. This nation was united Under God. The founding fathers believed in God and Christ. They did not believe in the iron rule of the Pope or England. With freedom of religion, people could form their own church and worship God in the ways that they chose. This worked out just fine. Those that wanted to could still stay under the iron rule of the Pope or worship God in their own way. As people immigrated into the US, they brought their own religion with them. People today in the United States can join a Catholic church, a protestant church, even a Buddhist church. They don't even have to believe in any religion at all. There are even anti religions practiced. And, there is even a group of people that so believe in the old order that their entire lives are devoted in living in the 19th. century. As can happen with any religious beliefs, people can stray. I.E. they don't practice what they preach or believe in. The sins can be great and affect many believers. The 20th century was filled with many scandals and horrors that occurred under the name of God. One of the worst was the mass suicide that occurred in South America. The followers of the Jim Jones cult were so brainwashed that they followed their leader to their death by committing mass suicide. The latest scandal was the Jim and Tammy Baker mess. Many elderly people watch the TV ministry. Those poor widows gave their life savings to PTL so that this money could go to help the poor and needy around the world under the name of God. While those elderly people suffered in poverty so that others could be helped under the name of God, Jim Baker, The Reverend Farwell, and others got filthy rich. As a result, all charity causes now suffer because of those scandals. Worse yet, were the sex scandals that were exposed. Not only were those individuals stealing from the poor, they were committing very serious sins in their personal lives as well. In 1991, a group of religious nuts gathered in Montana. They sold all of their possessions, took all of their life savings, and have given it to their church. They are currently holed up in their bomb shelters. They have armed guards posted everywhere. People living nearby are scared to death and are moving away as fast as they can. Another group of extremist formed a cult called the Branch Davidian in Waco Texas. This group is dedicated to celibacy and vegetarian. Their leader and god, David Koresh, eats meat and has sex with all of the woman including young girls. His cult made the news on February 28, 1993, when Federal agents of the Alcohol, firearms and Tobacco Bureau attempted to arrest him. The poorly planned arrest resulted in four agents being gunned down by well armed cult members. A siege soon followed. On April 19, 1993, Federal agents attempted to force out David and his 95 followers, many of them women and children. Armored vehicule were used to smash holes in the building and spray tear gas inside. By that afternoon, seeing that the Davidian compound was being torn down around him, Koresh ordered the building toarched. As the nation watch, live on TV, what was left of the Davidian compound became a raging inferno in minutes. There were eight survivors. Locally, a cult moved into Unionville, Michigan. They bought up several downtown buildings. They don't seem to have any source of income but seem to have plenty of cash. Neighbors complain about all of the religious screaming that occurs at all hours of the night. In the Summer of 92, they made the news when authorities investigated a complaint about the keeping of a dead infant. Their cult leader was "Trying to raise the dead". Other equally horrid scandals were soon exposed. A Roman Catholic Priest from Mount Clemens (Sag News A4, Jan. 19, 1989) pleaded no contest to molesting three boys and was sentenced to 4 to 15 years of prison. An Albuquerque, N.M. archbishop was forced to resigned after his sexual exploits with five women was exposed. There had been other such sex scandals reported as well. In the Roman Catholic Church in Canada, there have been 30 Priest, lay brothers, and other officials charged with sex crimes against altar boys in 1989 alone. The uproar occurred over the very light sentences, 3 years probation, given to several of the priest convicted as well as millions of dollars in hush money paid out. In addition, there was an equally horror story that exposed a scandal of Government money being used in a foster home for retarded children. What makes this story horrid is those children were classified as retarded in order for the church to receive a larger payment. Because many of those children were born out of wedlock (illegitimate), they had been taken from their parents. Many of those kids were physically, sexually and verbally abused by the nuns and brothers of the orphanage. In the US, the Priest scandals were even worse. (Larry King Show Oct.9,89) 142 Catholic priest have been convicted of molesting over 67,000 children ranging in ages from 6 to 16. Many of them got away with little or no punishment as a result of plea bargaining. OCR Scan; Saginaw News; BOSTON In the largest case of its kind, 68 men and women who said they were sexually abused as children by a Catholic priest in the 1960s announced a settlement Thursday that will provide substantial monetary damages and changes in church policy. The alleged victims of the former priest, James R. Porter, said through their attorney that they saw the settlement as an acknowledgement by the church that its leaders mishandled POrter three decades ago, when he allegedly raped, fondled and abused dozens of boys and girls in his care. The group also described the settlement as a turning point in the Catholic church's current thinking about sexual abuse, which has emerged from a shroud of silence into a focus for reform. Over the past 10 years, as many as 800 cases involving charges of sexual abuse of children by pedophiliac priests have either been filed as lawsuits or settled quietly out of court by Roman Catholic dioceses, according to a Baltimore therapist who has worked with organizations of sexual abuse victims. Richard Sipe, a timer priest and author of a study of sexuality and priestly celibacy, said victims' attorneys count about 400 legal cases filed against church officials since 1982. "And I say that for each case that's public and legal, there's one that's silent and settled," he said. Porter, 57, who was not a party to the agreement announced Thursday, also faces criminal trial in Minneapolis, where opening arguments were scheduled to begin Thursday. The former priest, who is married with four children, faces charges that he molested a teen-ager who was a babysitter for his children in 1987 . He left the priesthood in 1973. In addition, Porter faces 46 counts of sexual misconduct involving 32 people whom he allegedly abused in Bristol County, Mass., when Porter served as a parish priest in Fall River, New Bedford and Attleboro. Porter has pleaded innocent to all the charges, but in a taped conversation with a Boston television station he acknowledged that he had molested 50 to 100 children. Details of the settlement between the 68 victims. who call themselves "survivors" of Porter's abuse, and the Diocese of Fall River, where the alleged abuse took place. were not revealed. Much of this problem results when leaders of the Catholic Church refuses to deal with the problem. They try to cover it up with hush money instead of firing and prosecuting the offenders. Many of those Priest are then reassign to other Parishes where they continue to molest more children. The problem has become so bad that Catholic and other churches can no longer obtain insurance coverage. This problem is the result of the Vatican's refusal to let Priest marry. As a result, there is now a shortage of priest in the Catholic Church. Worse yet, a study done by A. W. Richard Sipe found out that less then 50% of Catholic Priest practice Celibacy, 20% are actively involved in a relationship with a women, about 6% to 8% are dating, 10% are involved in homosexual activities, and 2% are out there molesting children. In addition, over 30 million dollars of hush money has been paid out to families who's children have been molested by Priest. (Also confirmed by Larry King show). Pentecostal preaching often causes special problems in communities where this church is located. Neighbors often complain that such church services are much too noisy. They complain that there is too much singing, screaming and shouting in those churches. Then, the Geraldo special on Satanic cult really blew the lid off on religious panic. This special, graphically showed, what happens in satin worshiping. It appeared to explain why there has been such a shocking rash of child abuse, molesting, cult murders, and other bloody, gory mutilations of people and animals. And the people really started to panic after that. Soon afterwards, more satanic horror stories appeared. In Richmond Texas, an organized gang of teen devil worshipers attacked and killed their parents. One mother was killed by her 15 yr old son with a baseball bat. Local prosecutor chose to ignore the satanic connection, but, soon learned that this was a fatal mistake. 15 people were killed in Mexico by cultist. Sara Villareal, was arrested after a gun battle, on charges of being the high priestist involved in those murders. However, Federal Judges soon dropped all charges. Even Governments can get swept up in the satanic cult panic. The belief that the numbers 666 represents Satan comes from Chapter 13, verse 18 of the New Testament Book of Revelations, which refers to the number of the Beast... six hundred three scores and six." The Government of Britain decided to remove all licence places that had the numbers 666 on them when a murderer use the excuse that the numbers on his licence plated persuaded him to commit those murderers. Former President Ronald Regan had his street address changed from 666 to 668 St. Cloud Drive. Davidson County in Tennessee during 1988 removed from the county stockpile, all licence plates bearing the numbers 666. and so forth, such was the fear of that number combination. The Catholic Church has also admitted to performing exorcism. That is, they go hunting for and kick out devils and other ghosts that haunt or possess people and places. Of course, this raised all kinds of panic. There were even movies such as the Amyville Horror, The Exorcist, and Poltergeist. Liberals continued to insist that such people that were possessed or had haunted houses were "Just making this all up". Rock music soon came under attack by the Catholic Church. This music, they insisted, was satanic (See music and the Panic Society). Many religions such as Baptist, forbid their members from listening to such music. Even before this, the American Civil Liberty Union kept pushing the issue of "Separation of Church and State". Their push to ban Nativity scenes, the Bible, Christmas Carols, etc. in schools and public places should really read "Freedom From Religion". Their latest crusade is to remove all traces of Christmas, Halloween, and Easter from the school system. Other countries have had severe problems under the name of Religion. In Ireland, Catholics and Prosident have been locked in a bloody war for years. in spite of the teachings of Christ and the ten Commandments of "Thou Shall Not Kill" and "Love Thy Enemy as You Would Your self," They kill and bomb each other daily. In Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, and the surrounding areas, the 3000 year old religious war between the Jews and Arabs continues. Almost every day, people are stoned, stabbed, and beaten to death in the name of religion. The 20th century has added gunfire, explosives, and modern warfare. 1992, With the breakdown of Communism in Yugosolvia, religious wars have flared anew. This war has torn apart the country with overtones of genocides as both sides are determined to exterminate the other. In Saudi Arabia, religion demands the complete devotion of all of its citizens. 5 times a day, the people must bow and pray to their God, Allah. They are also required to visit the holy shrine of Mecca at least once in their lifetime. There are other very strict rules. No one is allowed to have or drink any alcoholic beverages. Pork and pork products are forbidden. No one is allowed to have pictures, video tapes, view naked women, or see women dancing. There is no entertainment allowed. Women are not allowed to do anything in public. No other religious practices are allowed. No singing of songs, praying, books, etcs. of other religions are allowed there. This law is strictly enforced by their religious police. Foreign visitors are NOT exempt. In the Middle East, there are many other groups of religious fanatics. Each year, the Islamic Shiite go through a rite where they beat themselves on their head with sticks. Blood is everywhere. This group also believes that they will go to heaven if they blow up their enemies as they go on a suicide attack. Many of them are the crazed followers of the late Komaini. During his funeral, they dumped his 3 day old body out of its casket in their crazed attempt to touch that casket in 115 degree desert heat. Each year, Muslim make a mass pilgrimages to Mecca. Millions of them jammed this holy city. As usual, there are many deaths. Thousands were killed in 1989 as a result of Iranian extremist that attempted to attack the church in its center. In 1990, 50,000 people jammed a tunnel designed for 1000 people. When The air conditioning failed in the 115 degree desert heat, 1,426 people died from the stampede to get out. Hindus and Muslims in India are also at war with each other. Each year, there are horror stories of mobs that attack and kill masses of people of the opposing religions. In the Panic Society, there is no such problem. There is no religion allowed. All churches have been leveled. All religious books and symbols have been destroyed. People are forbidden to pray and sing religious songs. The Robo Police will strictly enforce this rule. There will no longer be problems that have resulted from religious wars, stolen money, sinning, guilt, bloodletting, drinking of blood, cult violence, etc. Is this Possible? Yes, Many of the Communist countries have done just that. If a people believe in God, Communist leaders cannot enslave their populations. Can the Panic Society succeed in banning religion forever? The Bible says no. As long as a person has the power to use his, her brain that person will still be able to think and reason. As the song 2525 says, "God will come on judgement day and either be pleased where man has been, or tear it down and start over again". AH
