Work and the Panic Society



	With the start of the evil, earth polluting, industrial 
revolution, The 20th Century became a very dangerous place to 
work in. Workers were being killed and injured on the job. The 
work was often hard, tedious, and the hours long. There was a 
tendency for employers to demand a lot of overtime. Such long 
hours and the demand by bosses for production often resulted in 
quality problems and accidents.

	The wages were often low. Employees were often fired on a 
moments notice, or, in the case of a unionize place, the place 
could close down after 20 or 30 years with the total loss of any 
retirement benefits and plans. At other times, a place would 
close, then reopened under another name, by the same owners, who 
then hired at much lower wages.

	Unions were formed in an effort to protect the rights of the 
workers. However, this soon failed when union leaders became 
filthy rich from union dues and retirement kickbacks. They made 
what was called "Sweetheart Deals" with employers and screwed the 
workers.

	Other unions ended up playing hardball with the employer. 
They would go out on long strikes against the business. They also 
insisted on ridiculous wages and the keeping of obsolete jobs 
(featherbedding). They also supported those workers that drank on 
the job, used drugs, missed a lot of work, slept on the job, or 
just plain did lousy work. This practice put a great deal of 
hardship on employers and employees alike.

	When the union went on strike, the business just hired 
temporaries (scabs) at minium wages. Those people had no 
training, no job protection, and no rights. They could be fined 
and fired for any or no reason. Also, those workers were subject 
to being beaten up by union thugs and their property vandalize.

	The employees that went on strike ended up being starved 
into submission. They often ended up returning to work with less 
then what was offered to them.

	In some cases, the company declared bankruptcy. (The 
lockout.) Then, it reopened under another name. Employees then 
lost their jobs, pensions, and all benefits. The Kroger and 
Kessel stores of Michigan are a classic example of the lockout 
tactic. While this practice is suppose to be illegal, Al Kessel 
has been able to lock up the court ruling on this case for over 
10 years. In spite of court rulings in favor of the former 
employees, he has been able to remain above the law. The pickets 
have left because the union can no longer afford to keep them 
there.

	The formation of a union was also hazardous to employees. 
Employees were often fired if the employer found out that they 
were talking to a union rep. Employees were also beaten by union 
thugs and private detectives hired by employers to stop the 
formation of a union, or to break up a strike.

	Industrial jobs were very dangerous. There were all kinds of 
problems with dangerous chemicals, extreme noise, heat, cold, 
heavy equipment breakdowns, etc. Workers could be poisoned by 
toxic chemicals, fried to a cinder by molten metals, ground to a 
pulp in machinery, crushed by falling equipment, electrocuted by 
high voltage, run over by lift trucks, or suffer many other 
injuries too numerous to mention.

	There was also the constant danger of getting cancer. 
Workers were exposed to all kinds of cancer causing dust, 
chemicals, fumes, and other such hazards according to an EPA 
report. People living near those plants were also exposed to 
cancer causing toxic smoke, fumes, dust, soot, etc. spewing out 
of those plants. The water that they drink gets contaminated from 
this stuff. The food that they eat is also contaminated from 
those plants.

	Such factories in third world countries were incredibly 
dangerous to be near. In Bhopal, India, in 1984, an industrial 
accident resulted in the deaths of over 3,500 people and injuries 
to thousands of others. The radioactive desert of central Asia 
was the result of a secret military factory explosion. The 
nuclear accident at the power plant in Russia contaminated a huge 
area with radioactive dust particles.

	Those factories were also destroying the environment. They 
spewed out massive quantities of toxic smoke. They also dumped 
large amounts of polluted water. There were also large amounts of 
highly toxic solid wastes generated. The land and ground water at 
the factory and for miles in all direction were poisoned by that 
factory.

	Once a worker got cancer or some other job related problem, 
or suffered a disabling injury, it was "Pink Slip time." There 
were plenty of replacements out there in the work force. This is 
still a very common practice in countries like Mexico and others 
where there is no worker protection or EPA that tries to make the 
work place a little safer.

	Many evil US companies moved their businesses to Third World 
Countries. They took advantage of the cheap labor. They also 
didn't have to worry about worker's health or safety. It didn't 
matter that those people will never be able to afford their 
products.

	Construction and mining jobs were no safer. The workers were 
exposed to all kinds of nasty weather such as extreme heat, 
bitter cold, rain, snow, ice, lightning, high wind, dust, etc. In 
addition, workers could be buried alive, get blown to bits by 
explosions, flattened by heavy equipment, fell from great 
heights, drown in floods, get trapped with no escape, or have the 
entire structures collapse on them.

	Offices were no safer either. They were very noisy. People 
caught colds from working in crowded conditions, handles 
dangerous paper, exposed to EMR from computer terminals, suffered 
tunnel corporeal syndrome from the constant typing on computer 
keyboards that still use the old fashioned qwerty keyboard, were 
exposed to fumes from copy machines, caught legionnaire disease 
from faulty air conditioning systems, etc. Bosses were chasing 
secretaries, bullying coworkers to work faster, spying on the 
computer terminals, or else, causing workers to suffer ulcers 
etc.

	Co workers could also be dangerous to be around. Many of 
them smoked exposing others to the dangerous fumes from their 
cigarettes. Others were alcoholics that drank on the job. They, 
with the drug users, could cause injuries and deaths to other 
workers due to their impaired judgment and resulting 
carelessness. Some could even go off the deep end and come back 
with a gun, firebomb, etc. then, kill everything in sight.

	"That's what you get for firing me". said a former employee 
of a insurance company as he shot dead his three former 
supervisors in a shooting spree. January 26, 1993. (Also, See

	It was not unusual for some nut to try to rob the business 
and employees. Often, the results were employees killed or 
injured. If the robbers got away with any money, the employees 
were blamed for that loss.

	"Homicide is the greatest job risk for women." Sag news. 
August 17, 1990. Most of the killings results from women being 
killed by robbers that hold up banks and retail stores. The other 
cases result when women are attacked and raped as they leave 
their job and head for the car.

	Over a two day period, in the Hydramatic Plant at Warren, 
Mi. 11 GM workers were arrested on drug possession. They were 
caught with varying amounts of marijuana, crack, cocaine, and 
other hard drugs.

	Gambling ran rampid in the work places. Number and sports 
boards were common everywhere. They could get to be a very 
expensive habit. One GM superboard cost betters $1000 a square. 
$10 and $100 boards were very common. Co workers were also 
pushing raffle tickets like crazy. Such tickets, candy drives, 
and other such fund raisers were often dragged in from home as a 
result of either the workers, or members of their families 
belonging to schools and other organizations.

	Traveling to and from work was very dangerous. Workers often 
got caught in huge traffic jams. This often made a worker late 
for work. Many have been killed and injured in auto crashes, 
commuter train pileups, bus wreaks, plane crashes, shot by 
freeway maniacs, etc. as they tried to rush to work so that they 
wouldn't be late and get fired.

	Getting a job could be one of the worst experiences 
imagined. You first had to run the gauntlet of requirements and 
regulations that often pried into your private life.

	Many places now require police records and drug testing 
results supplied by you. You pay for this. Then, they might put 
you on the job waiting list.

	You often had to print up hundreds of resumes and send them 
out personally to hundreds of places. This meant that you had to 
do a lot of hassling with secretaries and others to find whom to 
send those resumes and cover letters to personally. Otherwise, 
you were wasting your time as resumes addressed to Personnel 
Department automatically filled a waste basket without being 
opened.

	Answering job ads in the paper was also just as ridiculous. 
The ads were either too good to be true, (which they were), to 
having ridiculous requirements. The few lucky ones that had the 
requirements would never work there anyhow as the pay offered 
fell far short of what those people already made elsewhere.

	Finally, filling out the job application could be one of the 
worst invasions of your private life ever. You could end up not 
getting a job if you answer one question wrong or refused to 
answer it. Even worse, you could end up on a job blacklist.

	Some of the questions on one job list are, "I believe in the 
second coming of Christ." "I believe there is devil and a hell in 
the afterlife." "I have never indulged in unusual sex practices."

	The job applicant sued for infringement on privacy. She won 
the case. However, no one will now hire her.

	Job applicants are automatically blacklisted, (Undesirable), 
if they are a Vietnam veteran, have suffered mental illness in 
the past, are a smoker, a former alcoholic, a former drug user, 
are Gay or lesbian, a Feminist, have a criminal record, have ever 
had a history of back problems, have ever sued a former employer, 
or have ever filed a claim for a work related injury.

	Employers then check the computer database to further pry 
into your private life. They check all of your credit records, 
call your former employer, your school, etc. They will even hire 
a private detective that will then snoop into your private life 
and that of your relatives and dependents. Of course, if you are 
working and your present employer finds out that you are checking 
out what other jobs are out there, you will most likely get pink 
slipped that Friday.

	You can also be turned down for a job if the employer feels 
like it. He doesn't have to give any reason. If you ask, you end 
up on the blacklist.

	If you fail a drug test, forget about getting a job.

	Your Glorious Leaders have passed laws that require 
employers to hire blacks and women no matter if they are 
qualified for the job or not. The evil businesses responded by 
leaving the country.

	Jobs now offered in most places are for full time work at 
part time hours and minimum wage. There are no rights. Workers 
can be fired at any time for no reasons.

	Finally, if you're white and male, you can forget finding 
any job at all. If you are lucky enough to hold a job, you can 
also forget being promoted for the same reasons.

	Once the Kennedy Civil Rights bill was passed, anyone that 
is White and working soon lost their job or end up being demoted 
to a lower paying position. Businesses were forced into hiring 
women and minorities and promoting them for jobs that many of 
them were not qualified for. This resulted in much shoddy work 
and a very expensive cost of doing business.

	Business did not challenged such a law. After all, Your 
Glorious Leaders call them "Racist" when the business complains 
about the poor work, etc.

	As a result, most white males were unemployed. So were many 
Blacks and other minorities as many the smaller businesses went 
bankrupt. In addition, many big businesses just relocated to 
Mexico thanks to the evil Republicans support for NAFTA.

	In the Panic Society, all manual labor is done by robo 
units. All manufacturing is done by automated equipment. Only 
safe materials are used as dangerous chemicals are longer needed. 
People are not allowed in any factory. Hydrogen is the only fuel 
environmentally approved for industrial heating.

	People will work in the safety of their Super Safe Home. 
Only minorities and womyn are allowed to work. They operate the 
computer terminals that control the robo units.

	Blacks work if they want to. They just look at a computer 
terminal. White European males are not be allowed to do any job. 
After all, they are the ones that created the job mess in the 
20th century and exploited and discriminated against Blacks and 
womyn in the workplace.

	Your Glorious Leaders of the Panic Society operate the data 
systems that run the Panic Society. Your Glorious Leaders of the 
Panic Society oversee the surveillance units that make sure that 
everyone behaves in a super safe way.

	Your Computer terminals has a touch pad keyboard. It is an 
IBM common Model T terminal. It is soft and safe. The display 
screens is of color LCD displays. Such displays use existing 
light and never emit any harmful radiation. Since all storage is 
by high density crystal units, no one ever has to handle any 
dangerous tapes or floppy disks.

























Is this all possible?

	The 20th century now has many people working at home on 
computer terminals. LCD displays are now available. The ram laser 
disk will soon be available for the home computer. Laser crystal 
storage units are in the works. They would work much like a stack 
of CD disks.

	Industry is rapidly converting the manual labor jobs to 
automation.

	With automation and robots, all the heavy, dangerous work 
will be done by machinery. People will be no longer exposed to 
noise, fumes, or danger. People can work in the super safety of 
their Super Safe home.

	With Big Brother watching, there is no personal freedoms 
anywhere. The closest society to this that exist in 1990 can be 
found in the country of North Korea, the USSR, and it's Soviet 
Block Nations. However, their society is not safe at all. The 
safety of their workers is not considered. The deaths or injuries 
are just not reported.
