Synopsis:
~~~~~~~~~
    Cbscan  is  a  program  for use with, 02A  Phase  Lock  Loop  (PLL)
Citizen  Band  Radio's  (CB).  The  program  with a small buffer interface
will go through frequencies 25.965 Mhz (-99) to 27.705 (70) with all the half
channels amongst the original 40 channels i.e.,

                        03.5  26.995 Mhz
                        07.5  27.045 Mhz
                        11.5  27.095 Mhz
                        15.5  27.145 Mhz
                        19.5  27.195 Mhz

Legal:

    Whilst  CBScan  is  freely distributable, it is NOT Public Domain.  The
author  retains  all  copyright  on  it  and  associated material.  You can
include  it  in any Public Domain disk collection as long as NO MORE than a
nominal disk copying fee is asked.  I realize some BBSs strip distributions
to save space, however, please do not as these files are needed to run this
program when including this distribution in any archives.

You do not have to provide a small contribution to the author. But <g> 
if you send $10 Australian to the address below I will mail (or email)
you a personalized version with key assignments for your favorite channels.

US$ and postal orders accepted.

Requirements:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
        CBScan  requires  both Workbench 2.04+ and reqtools.library v38.
As  of v2.0, CBScan is no longer Workbench 1.3 compatible.  This earlier
operating  system  is  obsolete. Anyone still using it is well advised to
upgrade to at least v2.0 (3.1 preferable).

Installation:
~~~~~~~~~~~~
        Copy the fonts to the font: drawer and the libs to the libs: drawer
and put CBScan and it's icon where you wish.

Usage:
~~~~~~
    Simply run CBScan from either the CLI or Workbench.

    Once running a screen will appear.  In the window you will find a replica
of my old Super Bengal (sorry I am not an Artist <g>) and a digital frequency
meter, there are keys assign for certain channels and a requester of these
can be seen either by typing K or k:

The project menu includes:

        Quit            : What do you think?

        About           : Program Information.

        Keys            : Displays the available key commands.

        Provided in the Hardware drawer are the schematics for the small
buffer board that runs between your Amiga's parallel port and your CB's
02A chip.

feel  not competent to do the hardware hack get someone you KNOW is.


Versions:

        An arrangement can be made with me to do a version for your CB if it
is not 02A compatible and is able to go past the 40 channel limit designed
by the newer CB PLL chips. I can be contacted "AS BELOW"

    v1.96  -  Fixed some typos in the docs (07 May 1996)

    v1.95  -  completely re-write in C (04 May 1996)
           - Now it requires Workbench 2.0+ and Reqtools v38+.

    v1.0   -   First public release. (29 Nov 1990)
             written in Machine Language.

Programming Notes:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    CBScan  was  written on a 5 meg A500 with a 420 meg Quantum IDE hard
drive.   It  was  compiled with SAS/C v6.3 and the GUI was designed using
Jan Van Den Baard's GadToolsBox pictures converted to source with
J. Tyberghein's IFF2Src.

Things to do:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
        Maybe a few versions for different PLL chips depending on
the feedback I get.

        A channel requester

        A clock and maybe a callsign, channel and time log
