Hello AF reader. My system comprises... A4000 030/FPU, 2M chip, 20M fast, 2.2Gb IDE hard drive, 16 X CD, Picasso IV and 17" flat screen SVGA monitor, Hypercom 3+serial card, Pace 56K modem, Rapidfire SCSII card and Canon BJC-4000 printer. I need more speed though! I bought my A4000 in 1993 and had an A500 before that, the biggest jump was with the Picasso IV and the new monitor! I couldn't believe the difference and would never go back my old Philips CM 8833 Mk II, mind you, it served me well for about ten years. I use Workbench 3.5 and an 800x600 24 bit screenmode, I rendered the backdrops using "CandyFactory Pro", it's the business for making any kind of flash graphics for you web pages. I am a great fan of MUI and am forever fiddling with the prefs! Like many people, I used to use loads of hacks and utilities but after a while you realise you can get along without them and I now subscribe to the "less is more" philosophy. I only have "Toolsdaemon" and the WB commodity "WBC" which makes WB use the graphics cards Fast Ram instead of Chip. I use Garshneblanker and my favourite is the Pendulum - nice and simple. I spend a lot of time on the NET and use Netconnect 3 for this along with YAM 2 for my EMails and STRICQ by Doug McLaughlin is an absolute must. GENESiS for me connects at 50667 which I'm pleased about. I do a lot of drawing and use Brilliance 2, Photogenics 2 and 4.2 along with CandyFactory Pro, Imagine 3 and PlanetAGA which I got from France and maps images onto a sphere. I register a lot of shareware and would advise others to do the same. For word processing I use Wordworth 7. As far as games go, I buy anything by Clickboom, I've got Foundation DC and have recently bought Phoenix Fighters from Alive Mediasoft, it's a great two player game.
