CHRIS SPICER - A LIFE Ahem. Yes, well, that rather grandiose title is my way of saying that this document is a brief biography, designed to correct some of the contradictory information supplied in the various readmes in my contribution. If anyone cares. Which noone probably does. Okay, my name is Chris Spicer. I was born in 1977, which makes me 21 years old as I write this. I live in the town of Nuneaton, which is the most exciting, attractive and happenning place in the world (that was sarcasm, by the way). At the moment I am employed as a data entry clerk by an insurance firm called Domestic And General. This job involves using computers - well, not real computers, but those horrible Visual Display Units. They make me miss my Amiga. My Amiga is a gorgeous machine which I love dearly. It's an A1200, but I've spent the last couple of years upgrading it slowly. I now have a 1.2 gig hard drive. It became necessary to replace my old hard drive after I attempted to fit a four-way buffered IDE interface and zapped the hard drive with static electricity. Doh! The four-way interface was fitted to allow me to use a CD-Rom, a 32-speed demon of a drive. I also have a Viper '030 accelerator running at 40 mhz with an FPU, with 16 meg of memory on board. To those who have yet to upgrade their Amigas, I can say only this - do it now, as you won't regret it. My hobbies are writing, drawing and computing. The writing and computing bits are combined into my contributions to Amiga Survivor - for more details on that, see below. I have self-published my own comic, entitled A Big Slice Of Brain Cake, which is a surreal humour comic, mostly made up of single panel cartoons. However, it contains a two-page strip called Biscuit which has proved incredibly popular with everyone who has read it - it made one reader collapse to the floor in a fit of hysterics (no, really!) I also contribute to a small-press anthology title called Ruco Comics Presents. The publishing schedule of this mag is a little irregular, but my material should see publication sometime soon. Finally, Amiga Survivor. Amiga Survivor is a growing Amiga mag. The latest issue I've got is issue 6, and material for issue 7 has already been submitted. Issue 6 contains reviews of Kang-Fu, NetConnect 2, The Scene Archive and more, as well as loads of game previews and a massive interview with Stuart Walker of Digital Images. Issue 7 will contain reviews of Napalm, Marbellous 2 and Games Attack. Amiga Survivor is an independant mag created by, and indeed for, people who really love their Amigas. At £2.95 per A4 issue, it really is very good value. The magazine's editor is Robert Iveson, a guy who is incredibly dedicated to making this mag as good as it can be. I review games, and there's a regular opinion column by Keith Elcombe. Our new art-editor Stephen Thwaites has worked wonders with the covers and layout of the mag, so that now we look as professional as any newstand mag - except for the fact that the interiors are black and white. At least you get a stunning colour cover.
