                ** My System's Configuration **
                   ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    An A1200 in an Eyetech  EZ-Plus  Towercase  (one of my best
upgrades yet), a Blizzard '030 card  with  32Mb and a 50Mhz FPU
fitted, plus an Eyetech Audio mixer  which enables me to use my
new 40-speed IDE CD ROM drive  for  Amiga CD's and normal music
CD's, there's two floppy drives  in  my  tower, together with a
3.5" 4.2Gb Seagate Medallist hard Drive.

    All my printing is done  via  my excellent Epson Stylus 600
inkjet printer, all  A1200  sound  including  normal music CD's
get's  pushed  through  a  pair   of  NTrust  300  watt  stereo
multimedia Amiga/PC speakers, I  don't  have  a monitor yet, so
for now, all A1200 viewing get's done via a Scart-to-Scart lead
through my Sony "14  portable  colour  TV,  good picture, but a
monitor will be next on my shopping list.

                        My WB Backdrops
                       ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    Apart from the readers  ads,  this  is  the only OTHER time
I've written in or sent something into AF, but seeing as though
is's not the only A1200  mag   around,   it   is the best in my 
view and hopefully will stay so  (creep creep, lend me a tenner 
lads).

    So with me not  having   a   monitor   those   of  you  who 
view my WB screengrabs with a  monitor might  find  them  a bit 
crap, if so I'm sorry, but  I've  done  my best, anyway, I just 
can't be arsed  around  with  using   all   these   various  WB 
hacks  such as ARQ, Swazinfo, etc etc, so, apart from my trusty 
DOpus 5.6 Magellan, that's the  only  real  major  proggy  that 
I would  never  change,  all  my  screengrabs  were   done  via 
TurboPrint 5 (a fully  registered  version  to  me  I may add), 
DOpus 5.5/5.6 Magellan are also both fully registered to me.

    And apart from changing my  DOpus internal workings quite a 
bit, the backdrop piccy stays the  same  for quite  a few weeks 
at a time, so with my continuous changing of  DOpus's workings, 
I can't be hassled  to  give  all  the   windows  backdrops  as 
well, my way,  I  save  valuable  chip  memory,  tight yes, but 
practical as well.

    This particular backdrop was on the AFCD No 39 I think, and
being unemployed I've bloody missed  issue's  37 & 38, but I've
got 97% of the others, so I'll  try to get back issues of those
two later on hopefully.

    I've no need to use any  button creating proggys to make it
possible for me to have more  or  less  direct access to any or
most of my other programs  because  the DOpus "Start" button at
the bottom right  of  my  WB  gives  me  access  to  almost any
software on my HD, and although it's very similar to a PC Start
menu, having once owned a Pentium  II  233Mhz Intel II setup, I
soon realised that although the PC was no so "User Friendly" as
my lovely A1200, some of  the  PC's  features would have been a
great extension for WB and the like.

    The "C-RAM" button at the bottom  right of my screen is the
way that I've set DOpus up to do all the clearing in RAM of any
unarchived files that I copy to  it, it's quick as well, you'll
also see that I've used  BenchTrash,  but  that's a very recent
addition, I used to  use  Trashmanager,  both are good in their 
own rights.

    The "FF0" & "FF1"  disk  icons  are  Virtual floppy disk's,
they're the same size as  a  standard  floppy, but a damn sight
quicker for allowing the unarchiving  of  all my DMS files, I'm
only using a shareware version  of  Virtual floppy for now, and
hope to get a full  registered  version  soon, the same applies
for the  Crunchmania  proggy  I   use,   it's  good,  but  only 
a shareware  version,  if  anyone   has   access   to  the full 
original version and they want to  sell  them, please drop me a 
line please.

    And although I think that my  WB  pics are good (not great)
it's the individuality of ALL Amiga users WB layouts alone that
has helped towards  the  staying  power  of  our beloved Amiga,
being a PC user once, the  PC  has  got  a few good points, but
overall, the PC needs  graphic  cards,  sound  cards, cards for
this and that just to make  it  work, the Amiga doesn't, it's a
well made machine without all that,  but these things bought as
upgrades has kept and will keep our baby alive for some time to
come, so "ALL AMIGA USERS MUST UNITE".

    Most of the  various  hacks  can  be  found  either  on the 
Aminet, or the various Aminet CD's, and for roughly £10 each, I 
think they're a good buy, of  course  you need either an IDE or 
SCSI CD ROM drive for such luxury,  but with the purchase of my 
Eyetech kit I managed to  pick  up  my  40-speed IDE CD ROM for 
only £32, but I was lucky not  to  pay p&p because the PC trade 
where I bought it (Star Computers) is also in Rugby, and not to 
far away from me.

    If any of you "Less experienced Users" amongst us needs any 
help, then I'd be only to happy to  help if and when I can, all 
my help and advice is free, I was a novice Amiga user once, but 
I had no help from  anyone,  I  learn  myself, ok, so I'm still
