Wirenet Software Installer
If you specified that you use NetConnect when you opened your account, you would not
have received the Wirenet software pack. This is because trying to install and run
both software suites at the same time caused several problems. Provided you follow
the instructions given below you will have no problems installing the Wirenet software
alongside an existing NetConnect installation.
-
- The download has been split into four archives, each small enough to fit on a 720K PC
formatted disk, for those downloading via a PC.
You need to download these four files:
WirenetInst1 (613K)
- WirenetInst2 (660K)
- WirenetInst3 (577K)
- WirenetInst4 (594K)
- Unarchive the three files to a temporary directory (or RAM:)
- Read the installation section in Wirenet.guide and then run the installer
Installing the Wirenet software will prevent NetConnect working, because both need
an assign to AmiTCP: The assign added to user-startup by the Wirenet installer will
override the earlier NetConnect one.
If you wish to use NetConnect you need to reset the AmiTCP: assign. For a one off
usage, type
Assign AmiTCP: NetConnect:AmiTCP-4.5 for NetConnect 1
or
Assign AmiTCP: NetConnect2:AmiTCP for NetConnect 2
in a shell. To revert to NetConnect permanently, comment out the
Assign AmiTCP: Wirenet:AmiTCP
line in user-startup by placing a ";" at the start of the line and rebooting.
