My stereo setup is as follows:

Marantz CD63SE CD player

Sonus Faber Concerto speakers

Monster M850i interconnect (EC4.5->AW60)

Monster MCX-2s speaker cable (dual runs for biwiring)

I think it sounds pretty cool. All I want is a balanced CD-player to replace the Marantz. I think it sounds a bit bright.

The setup is very revealing, sometimes too revealing. A bad recording often sounds a lot worse on this setup. A really good recording, however, sounds excellent.

Records to kill for

These CDs should be present in any good CD collection! More coming up later.

Yello: Essential - The ultimate Yello collection. The recording quality is a bit hairy, but the music is really fun to listen to!

Pink Floyd: The division bell - Excellent quality recording, excellent music!

Pink Floyd: The dark side of the moon - The remastered version is really good. A classic. Find the error in the index in the cover! It's not hard ;-).

Amanda Marshall - This recording is of really exquisite quality and some of the tracks really dig into your bones. Too bad she has not released any more albums.

Enigma 2: The cross of changes - Another high quality recording. This is the best of the three albums. Feel the precise bass drums on "Carly's song" - bad speakers/amps can't handle it!

Bel Canto: The Magic Box - A bit weird, but Anneli Drecker's voice is extremely good and she knows how to use it. The only thing better than the CD is the real thing. Did you miss the concert? Too bad.

Enya: Paint the sky with stars - The ultimate Enya collection. I play this one late at night since it's virtually bass-free. It's really calming music that puts you in a good mood.

Jamiroquai: - Whoever mixed this one was a genius. The first three tracks really hit me in the face the first time I heard it.
