TCP/IP Connections
If you want to play AmigaQuake via TCP/IP (Internet) together or against your friends please read the following tips:
  • The Amiga with the FASTEST Connection and the FASTEST Processor should be the Server (ISDN) 68k, PPC
  • If you have an ISDN Card you should use the fastest BAUD Rate your card can use, e.g. 230400 or 460800. This is because you can fit your friends (clients) with the necessary information your 'server' sends out. if you understand what i mean! my ISDN Blaster needs only ~2% CPU Usage, therefore I use 460800 Baud.
  • If your connections are stable, but unplayable like : If I move (run/walk) Quake stops a bit and it looks like a slideshow you may change/try out these options:
(the values in brackets are the standard settings!)
       Host: host_maxframetime (0.1) >make higher! 0.15
       Host: sys_ticrate (0.05) >make higher! 0.1
       Client: cl_movespeedkey (2.0) >make higher
       General: _config_com_baud (57600) >make higher 115200 / 460800

Modem Connections
Team GoiGoi failed making a stable connection between 2 Amiga's! But I've heard a lot users were successful connecting a PC with an Amiga! Hum.... we dont test that, so I must say: I works! :=)

Ethernet/Ariadne Connections
Hi there, I have used quake on the internet via an ethernet connection (Fiber optic internet 10mb/s!!) I really can't be of much use as to comparison, as I have nothing to compare it to (cannot get a modem game to work) I CAN however say that it works just fine with miami v3.0b and ariadne ethernet card, and I didn't notice it much slower than just single user quake is on my 060. Cannot wait until I overclock it to 75 Mhz or when clickboom makes the 060 optimized version (PPC hopefully!!!!) Anyway, if you would like to post my results for the sake of other Amiga users go right ahead.

Thanx to Dave Flogeras for posting me this info! ;)
