Imperator is a Roman action/ strategy and warfare game based on the days when the Roman Empire wanted to expand out, to increase it's power into other nations. This game was released in French in January of this year and has only now been translated into English. Imperator has already received a warm reception from the French Amiga Press with articles in Amiga News and Amigazette.

Imperator involves you as one of those Roman Leaders out to attain Power by bringing peace and prosperity to all the known nations. But it's not just down to your skills as a warrior that matters but also as a political leader and manager with your main aim to win and receive the award of becoming a Roman Emperor (Imperator). It's made up of 60% strategy through the use of the Map of the various Empires (you can see this in the demo but not play) and 35% action which involves fighting your foe across the battle field.

In the demo that has just been recently released you are allowed to play two battles belonging to the action part of the game, which I found to be great fun involving much thought in moving units to the correct positions for attacking and defending. There are various units such as the infantry, archers, Cavalry, Consular Legions and more along with various terrain's such as meadow, arid plain, rocky land and desert. There are degrees of difficulty according to the Commander you choose to be, the weaker the Commander the bigger the challenge is to win.

If you like action strategy games, then Imperator is definitely for you. The author has decided to go Shareware but perhaps a Publisher may be interested in picking it up.

Imperator requires the minimum of an 020 processor, Hard Drive and Fast Ram is recommended. Download the demo of Imperator from the link below.
