My Fabulous Workbench!

It is a 1024x768 16bit (Hi-Color) screen on my Pixel 64. It looks lovely on my
17" multiscan monitor!

I saved it as a jpeg so you can view it in a web browser, if your normal viewer
runs away in terror.

Here's how it's done:

Icons are the "Iconite" set of newicons by Eric Brett, from CUCD4. I've never
seen them anywhere else.

I have Visualprefs and Birdie running to spruce up my windows and system
gadgets. I also have the WBGauge feature of MCP switched on, for the disk
fullness bar.

Benchtrash is at the top, for when I want to delete something.

SCSI Identifier (I don't know where I got it from, I was just clearing out my
hard disk one day when I found it!) is showing my 2 CD-ROM drives and Syquest
EZ-Flyer connected to my cacky Squirrel. (I can't get a SCSI kit for my Apollo
1240 and the Atéo SCSI board isn't available yet...) It really sucks.

Multiview is showing a sound sample, using the sound.datatype V41 from AFCD36

I have AmiTCP GENESiS, Groovyplayer, ClassAct prefs and AtéoSer prefs (for my Atéo IO1 board)
open.

MUIScreenmode can also be seen (available on AmiNet). The MUI background
(tasteful and understated, don't you think?) I drew myself. If you want it, it
is the background for the Author page of my website, at

The NetConnect toolbar is on the right, just above Dashboard (part of Executive,
the multitasking enhancer). The flower in the toolbar is for StrICQ. I drew it
myself! Dashboard is displaying my CPU usage, and also has
some nifty little drive lights, to show me when I/O is occuring on the squirrel,
internal IDE, and my modem!

The icon next to that is a drawer on my Junk: partition where I leave temporary
items. I "leave out" the icon, and assign to the drawer with a space as the
first charactor, so it is always the top assign in file requesters.

Along the bottom is Tinymeter, available on all AFCDs. Note how, even with all
these windows and things open, I still have 1.7MB of CHIP ram left!


A1200T, Apollo 1240, Squirrel, SCSI peripherals, 2.5" IDE hard disk,
Atéobus+Pixel64+AtéoIO1, all in an EZ-Tower from Eyetech (except the SyQuest EZ-Flyer
and Power XL-Drive HDFD, which are external devices)
