| Compatibility |
MakeCD has been tested with many different configurations of hardware
and works with almost all CD writers and rewriters. Because of
its modular design, support for new CD writers and rewriters can
be quickly and easily added with plug-in drivers.

| Supports ISO 9660 |
The ISO 9660 standard is supported for making CDs which are compatible
with a wide range of systems, including Amiga, Amiga CD32 (inc.
bootable), Amiga CDTV, MS-DOS, Windows, Unix and Macintosh. |

AmigaDOS
support |
MakeCD supports the standard ISO 9660 and Rock Ridge extensions,
which means it can create CDs that can be read on any platform,
and it also supports a special extension of these standards so
that Amiga directory and file names are fully supported, including
Amiga protection bits and file comments. |
| Audio CD |
The Audio CD standard is supported for creating your own audio
CDs (either from other CDs or from AIFF files on hard disk) which
can then be played in any standard CD player. |
| Enhanced Music CD |
Enhanced Music CD is supported (now known as CD EXTRA; formerly
CD Plus), which is a CD format that combines audio tracks and
data. |
| CD-ROM XA |
The CD-ROM XA multitrack standard is supported for writing existing
XA tracks to CD (multisession and multivolume). |
No separate
partition required |
MakeCD can either write data directly to CD-R or CD-RW media,
or it can first build an image file on hard disk - which will
be an exact duplicate of the CD being created - and then copy
that image file to the media. When working in this way, there
is no need to provide MakeCD with a separate partition for these
"image files" - as long as there is enough space on the named
partition (up to 740MB may be required) MakeCD will happily create
the CD image as a normal AmigaDOS file.

MakeCD has a feature that will enable you to make direct copies
of a hard disk partition or any compact disc. |

The MakeCD user interface adheres to the guidelines set out in
the Amiga Style Guide, which means it is easy to get along with
and it looks and feels like a proper, professional Amiga program.

MakeCD comes with a large AmigaGuide on-line help file, and the
program has a "bubblehelp" feature which means you will quickly
learn the function of every button and option. On top of this,
MakeCD comes with a comprehensive printed manual, written in Plain
English, that contains exact, simple-to-follow, step-by-step illustrations
of how to create many different types of CD. |
