A description of new features of Personal Paint 7.1 follows in this text, while a special upgrade offer to the full version 7.1 CD-ROM is included in the same issue of Amiga Format. This special CD-ROM edition also contains a few sample ColorFonts and AnimFonts from The Kara Collection CD-ROM. To view and use the ColorFonts from Personal Paint, right-click on the Text tool on the toolbar (the one with the "a" symbol), and click once on the cycle gadget to the right of the "Path" string gadget. This shows the fonts contained in the "PPaint" directory. The "Anim Text" script is a powerful example of what can be achieved with Personal Paint's Rexx scripts and AnimFonts. To run it, right-click on the Macros tool (it is located just under the Text tool), and select "Anim Text". Click on "About..." for instructions, or on "Execute" to run the script. The CD-ROM also contains animated examples of some of the effects that can be achieved with Personal Paint 7.1. To view these animations, select the "Animation/Play File..." menu item, and choose from the animation files inside the "Animations/PPaint_7.1" directory. Hard Disk Installation To install the CD-ROM version of Personal Paint 7.0 to your hard disk, just open the Workbench window of the destination directory, and drag-and-drop the "PPaint" directory icon into it. Personal Paint does not require any particular Assign instructions to run, although assigning the logical name "PPaint" to the program directory is useful to tell the system where to look for Personal Paint when an artwork file is double-clicked on. If, for example, the "PPaint" drawer is installed in the partition named "Work", you could add the following command to the "S:user-startup" file: Assign PPaint: Work:PPaint Personal Paint also runs directly from the CD-ROM (without hard disk installation).
